AT&T is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior DevOps Engineer based in Mexico City. In this role, you will work closely with our development and operations teams to ensure the secure and efficient deployment of our applications and infrastructure in the Azure cloud. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the Azure ecosystem, a strong background in software development and operations, and a passion for implementing best practices and innovative solutions.
What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with the development team to understand requirements and propose infrastructure architectures.
- Design and automate infrastructure deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Identify and deliver DevOps improvements enabled by AI/ML.
- Participate in cross-regional best practices guilds and knowledge exchange initiatives.
- Implement and maintain security tools, processes, and best practices to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of applications and infrastructure.
- Stay up to date with changes in security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulations.
- Provide guidance and training to team members on secure coding practices, threat modeling, and risk management.
- Monitor and analyze security logs, alerts, and reports to identify and respond to potential security incidents.
- Participate in incident response and post-mortem analyses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
What You Will Need:
- In-depth knowledge of cloud architecture principles, technologies, and best practices.
- Experience implementing and managing monitoring, alerting tools, and vulnerability scanners.
- Proficient with Azure and its related services (AppService, AKS, AKV, Private Networking).
- Hands-on experience with application containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, GitOps).
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for both applications and infrastructure (Azure DevOps, Git, GitHub).
- Strong experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code, including modules, state management, remote backends, workspaces, and secure patterns.
- Experience applying AI-assisted automation (e.g., using copilots/LLMs for runbook generation, log analysis, and incident summarization) with appropriate security and privacy controls.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Experience working within an Agile/Scrum development process.
Additional Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of networking technologies, security protocols, and best practices.
- Strong experience in Linux/UNIX system administration, including configuration, optimization, and security.
- Experience integrating AI tools and agent-based processes into day-to-day operations.
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Fully bilingual: must speak, read, and write in both Spanish and English.
- The role is based in Mexico City. No relocation is offered. This position is hybrid; you may be expected to go into the office 2 days per week.
Our Senior DevOps Engineer earns between $84,000 – $126,000 MXN gross monthly. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on experience, expertise, and education/training.
