Our early career technology programs provide industry insights, foundational knowledge, and leadership development to prepare participants for long-term success.

Technology Development Program

Educational requirements
- Full Time: Must possess a four-year undergraduate or graduate degree in a STEM* field, completed by the start date in mid-July.
- Intern: Must be rising seniors actively pursuing a four-year undergraduate degree or graduate degree in a STEM* field.
*STEM fields are inclusive of degrees classified under federal STEM designation codes.
Program schedule
- Full Time: Starts mid-July; duration is 2 years, or 3 years for the Network Engineer Track.
- Internship: Starts early June; duration is 10 weeks.

- Your initial assignment is tailored to your abilities and interests, and as you advance, you’ll have the freedom to shape your future, guided by a deeper understanding of the company and your own evolving passions and insights.
Work locations
- Greater metro areas include Dallas, TX; Atlanta, GA; Middletown, NJ; and Bothell, WA.
- Network Engineer Track is available only in Dallas, TX and Atlanta, GA.

Program tracks

Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of creating next-generation technology solutions, developing intuitive, user-focused designs, writing clean and efficient code, rigorously testing, and refining based on user feedback. Leverage AI to simplify processes and solve complex problems. Work closely with cross-functional teams in daily collaborative meetings to drive alignment and innovation. Proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript, React, Angular, or Node.js is essential.
Data Science Engineer

As a Data Science Engineer, leverage your expertise in data analysis, AI, and machine learning, complemented by a solid foundation of software engineering and a strong security-first mindset to solve complex business challenges and enhance customer satisfaction. Collaborate cross-functionally to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive operational efficiency, cost savings, and revenue growth. Proficiency in Python, R, Spark, and SQL is essential, along with excellent communication skills to effectively share your findings across teams.
Network Engineer

As a Network Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of AT&T’s advanced wireless and fiber networks. Contribute to the planning and optimization of 5G architecture, fiber optic design, and other cutting-edge network initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide data-driven insights and recommendations that influence strategic decisions. Supported by technical and leadership development opportunities, this role requires expertise in data analysis, programming, automation, financial acumen, and effective communication.
Systems Engineer

As a Systems Engineer, you’ll combine technical expertise and strategic insight to enhance AT&T’s network and application performance. Collaborate across teams to automate workflows, integrate diverse data platforms, and develop automated tests with a security-first mindset. Use your scripting and data analysis skills to generate actionable insights that drive informed decisions. This role offers the flexibility to focus on your strengths, whether in network optimization, system automation, or data-driven problem-solving, making a tangible impact on AT&T’s success.
