Overall Purpose:

Support strategic communications and stakeholder engagement to advance the organization’s public policy objectives.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Policy Analysis and Legislative Advocacy:Analyze legislation and regulatory issues. Advocate for the company’s regulatory agenda during public hearings and in meetings with state legislators and staff.

  • Stakeholder and Community Engagement:Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, community groups, and third-party coalitions. Represent the company on local boards and commissions, and serve as a primary representative in the communities we serve.

  • Event Coordination and Community Relations:Organize and manage community events to strengthen relationships between the community and elected officials. Promote the company’s initiatives and address constituent concerns.

  • Other Duties as Assigned:Support processes related to Political Action Committee (PAC) activity, internal collaboration, strategy development, lobbying activities, negotiations, addressing constituent concerns, and/or grant management.

An experienced professional recognized as an expert who creatively resolves complex issues using broad and in-depth knowledge. Leads significant projects with strategic autonomy and influences executive decision-making. Mentors less-experienced staff and implements long-term plans that impact the organization. Frequently collaborates with senior leadership. Must reside in the Indianapolis, Indiana area.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired. Five (5)+ years of related experience. Certification is required in some areas.

OurLead External Affairsrole earns between$116,700 and $175,100USD annually, plus additional rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
