Job Summary:

This role leads the end‑to‑end lifecycle of Small and Mid‑Market (SBMM) business products and bundled solutions, spanning strategy, development, launch, and in‑market performance. The position oversees integrated offerings across wireline, broadband, mobility, security, and value‑added services, translating B2B customer insights, market dynamics, and technical requirements into clear product definitions, business cases, and prioritized roadmaps.

The role is ideally suited for product leaders with experience operating in telecommunications or adjacent technology‑driven industries, including environments with complex pricing, bundling, and go‑to‑market models.

Overall Purpose:

The Principal Product Manager is responsible for leading the strategy, development, bundling, execution, and lifecycle management of SBMM products and services. This role ensures offerings align with customer needs, competitive dynamics, and AT&T business objectives. The position oversees business cases, financial impacts, and value propositions to maximize customer value, with a strong emphasis on integrated connectivity, mobility, and value‑added service bundles designed for SBMM customers. While focused on SBMM, the role also supports solutions across Small Business, Mid‑Market, Enterprise, and Global Business segments.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Product Lifecycle Management:

  • Lead the full lifecycle of SBMM products and bundled offers from concept through development, launch, in‑market optimization, and end of life
  • Design and evolve integrated SBMM bundles combining wireline connectivity, broadband, mobility, security, and value‑added services
  • Manage budgets, cost estimates, and capital funding requests supporting product development
  • Partner with design, engineering, operations, sales, and marketing teams to ensure successful launches and scalable execution
  • Monitor performance and deliver data‑driven recommendations based on customer behavior, competitive trends, attach rates, and financial results

Requirements Definition & Business Case Development:

  • Translate customer needs, operational insights, and technical requirements into clear product definitions, design documentation, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Develop comprehensive business cases outlining revenue potential, cost models, pricing assumptions, and competitive positioning
  • Prioritize roadmap features that improve customer experience, drive adoption, and streamline operational processes
  • Ensure requirements are well documented and aligned with internal capabilities and market demand

Market Research & Competitive Analysis:

  • Conduct in‑depth market and competitive research to identify trends, customer segments, whitespace opportunities, and areas for enhancement
  • Evaluate revenue and volume potential using scenario modeling for pricing sensitivity and attach rates across mobility, wireline, and value‑added services
  • Leverage customer insights, sales feedback, and usage analytics to guide strategic decisions and lifecycle optimization
  • Apply findings to influence long‑term product strategy and growth opportunities

Product Roadmaps & Performance Management:

  • Create and maintain detailed SBMM products and bundle roadmaps aligned to strategic priorities and customer needs
  • Drive coordination across wireline, mobility, security, and value‑added services to enable cohesive, timely launches
  • Produce service guides, product documentation, dashboards, and performance reports to track outcomes and identify opportunities to grow revenue and margin
  • Lead cross‑functional initiatives that improve customer lifetime value, operational efficiency, and overall portfolio performance

Cross‑Functional & Partner Collaboration:

  • Partners with Technology Development, UX Design, Legal, Contracting, Pricing, Product Marketing, and external technology partners to deliver integrated solutions
  • Collaborate with pricing teams to develop competitive, profitable strategies for standalone and bundled offerings
  • Work closely with UX teams to ensure customer‑centric design aligned with technical and operational constraints
  • Engage vendors and partners to optimize cost structures and enhance product capabilities and value

Job Contribution:

This role is recognized as a subject‑matter expert with strong business acumen and strategic insight across connectivity, mobility, and bundled solutions. The position leads large‑scale initiatives with significant organizational impact and frequent executive visibility. The role provides thought leadership, mentors others, and influences decisions across multiple teams while operating with minimal oversight.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in telecommunications, network‑based services, or enterprise technology environments strongly preferred
  • Prior experience developing or managing products at a communications service provider, technology provider, or comparable B2B organization is a plus
  • Relevant certifications may be required in certain areas

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired. 7+ years of related experience. Certification is required in some areas.
