This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered.

As a Sr Specialist Accountant, you will support HR Benefits by ensuring invoices are paid accurately and promptly, while delivering precise employee benefit expense data to Treasury and Accounting. Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and the general ledger efficiently. Prepare and reconcile journal entries with accuracy. Oversee receipts, disbursements, and tax reporting, interpreting accounting records to enable well-informed decisions. Perform monthly and quarterly Account Balance Reconciliations (ABRs) for the payment accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

Payment Processing and Analysis

  • Perform accurate and timely vendor payments in alignment with plan and trust rules.
  • Analyze payment amounts and patterns to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for savings or operational efficiency.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to validate vendor payments and resolve nuanced data issues related to contracts and billing.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Follow, monitor, and enhance internal controls that safeguard payment streams and sensitive information, ensuring data integrity.
  • Maintain full compliance with audit needs and IPE documentation.

Teamwork

  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholder teams to support a Win-As-One environment.
  • Add to the overall success and reliability of the team.

Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives

  • Contribute to special projects and initiatives for new vendors, benefits, audits, or participation
  • Apply technology skills to advance or streamline processes in order to save on time, costs, or risks.
  • Support management with ad hoc analysis, investigation, and reporting, and play an active role in ensuring payment and ledger accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Accounting or related field; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of related experience.

Our Sr Specialist Accountant earns between $87,200 - $130,800. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
