This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted.  No relocation is offered.

As a principal user research, you will be a highly valuable strategic partner in defining and creating innovative products across a variety of domains. You will lead user research programs across the entire lifecycle of a product. You also excel as a design strategist, and can support end to end service design to play a crucial role in informing what we build and how we design the experiences.

You love the research process: planning, executing, synthesizing data, and socializing insights. You have broad experience with different qualitative research, know when and where to deploy different methodologies, and championing what is right for the user.

You are also a Renaissance designer – with the proven skills and passion to dig into design strategy, service design and stakeholder management to champion and deliver on the needs of our users

What you excel at:

· Expertise in qualitative research – from discovery to usability and everything in-between – and a proven track record of research impact throughout a product lifecycle. You relentlessly pursue high-quality insights to inform product and design and contribute to new product ideas.

· You' re a great communicator - articulate and confident. Ability to translate reports in digestible formats and socialize findings into product recommendations. You are also comfortable and confident in being able to advocate for what should and shouldn't be included in product releases.

· You are also able to translate your thoughts to designs – frameworks, journeys, and blueprints – to help drive alignment with stakeholders.

· You’re a systems thinker and service designer, with the ability to synthesize the desired service experience into a visual framework that includes insights and hypotheses that will guide service efforts, and deliver strategy on how to provide a more seamless font-line staff and customer experience.

· Actively identify and track metrics / trends relevant to company and product goals. You’re a pro at identifying research needs and strategically aligning them to meet product/business needs, planning and executing research, synthesizing insights from the data, and facilitating activities to involve and align key stakeholders.

In addition to the above, other key roles and responsible may include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Strategic Research Planning and Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive research plans and methodologies to gather user insights that inform high-level design and product decisions across the organization.

· Advanced Data Analysis and Strategic Reporting: Analyze and interpret complex research data to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights. Compile findings into strategic reports and presentations, effectively communicating insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

· Cross-Functional Collaboration and Influence: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and developers, to integrate user research findings into the design and development process. Influence strategic decision-making through research insights and perspectives.

· Development of User Personas and Research Artifacts: Create detailed user personas and journey maps based on comprehensive research data. Produce research artifacts such as insight briefs, journey maps, affinity diagrams, and usability reports to support strategic design decisions.

· Continuous Improvement, Innovation, and Advocacy: Continuously iterate on research methods and processes to ensure they remain effective and innovative. Maintain a repository of research findings, stay current with the latest UX research methodologies, tools, and industry trends, and champion user-centered design principles and methodologies, ensuring ethical and effective research practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience as a team-builder and servant-leader with a track-record of people management, team development, recruiting and team building successes.

8+ years of experience in the research field, working collaboratively across functions: product, engineering, design, marketing, data science, and sales.
