As an integral member of the sales team, this role provides expert technical sales support for AT&T Public Sector Solutions customers, ensuring seamless integration and successful implementation of Wireline, Wireless, and IT products and services. The position plays a critical role in driving unit sales objectives through a blend of pre-sales and post-sales technical consulting activities, delivering sophisticated and innovative solutions tailored to complex customer needs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor during joint sales calls, effectively communicating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences with clarity and confidence.
  • Collaborate closely with customers and sales teams to understand business challenges and craft solutions that leverage AT&T’s product portfolio.
  • Deliver compelling sales presentations and product demonstrations, showcasing deep product knowledge and the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Maintain a proactive awareness of industry trends, emerging technologies, and federal security requirements related to data and communication services to ensure compliance and competitive advantage.
  • Provide expert consultation on system architecture, software applications, and integration strategies to ensure solutions meet customer specifications and security mandates.
  • Analyze customer practices, procedures, and data to resolve technical challenges and recommend innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and security posture.
  • Act as a subject matter expert with seasoned knowledge of functional and process areas, mentoring peers and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting efforts to guarantee optimal system performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Adapt to dynamic environments, working at customer sites, remote response centers, corporate offices, or other locations as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering, information technology, or a related field.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in technical sales or engineering, preferably within the telecommunications or IT sectors.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to engage and influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of federal security standards and compliance requirements affecting data and communication services.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay current with industry developments and leverage this knowledge to inform customer solutions and sales strategies.
  • Self-motivated with a consultative approach, capable of managing complex problems and delivering actionable recommendations.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Possession of relevant industry technical certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNP, CompTIA Network+, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) demonstrating validated expertise.
  • Strong familiarity with SD-WAN architectures, including design, deployment, and management of software-defined wide area networks.
  • Proven experience in developing compelling, competitive offer designs that have successfully secured strategic deals and driven business growth.
  • Experience integrating advanced network solutions such as 5G wireless, Low Earth Orbit Satellites (LEOS), and Ethernet to enable robust connectivity in challenging and diverse environments.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into customer-centric solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Demonstrated track record of collaborating cross-functionally to craft innovative offers tailored to market demands and client requirements.

Our Lead Sales System Engineer IV's earn between $109,000 - $183,000 + commission with a total target compensation of $148,400 - $222,400. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
