This career step requires senior level experience. Responsible for delivering user-centered, secure cloud applications by combining strong UX design expertise with a solid software engineering background. You will lead the end-to-end design and development process, focusing on simplifying complex cybersecurity concepts through human-centered design to reduce user errors, enhance adoption, and strengthen overall cloud environment protection.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Conduct user research including interviews, surveys, and usability testing to analyze user behavior and needs. Create detailed user personas and journey maps to guide design decisions that enhance cybersecurity experiences.
Design wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity interactive prototypes that align with AT&T’s brand identity and design system. Ensure accessibility and responsiveness across multiple devices to empower users with intuitive and secure interfaces.
Structure information architecture by organizing site maps and defining content hierarchy to create seamless and intuitive user flows that reduce security friction and address challenges such as security fatigue and human error.
Collaborate closely with other engineers to implement front-end designs and interactive prototypes, bridging the gap between UX design and development to ensure smooth product delivery and maintain high-quality standards.
Develop and execute usability testing plans, validate design effectiveness with real users, analyze feedback and performance metrics, and iterate on designs to continuously improve user experience and security adoption.
Lead cross-functional teams to translate business goals into user-centered, secure design solutions that drive adoption and simplify complex security features.
Take ownership of the entire UX lifecycle from research and design through implementation and optimization, advocating for design decisions that balance usability and security, and supporting deployment and maintenance activities.
Support production application environments by troubleshooting usability and interface issues, collaborating on code fixes, and ensuring ongoing enhancements align with user needs and cybersecurity objectives.

Our Lead Software Engineering earns between $143,800.00-$215,800.00 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
