Are you a seasoned IT leader passionate about driving innovation and delivering scalable, high-performance software solutions? Join our dynamic team as an Associate Director, where your expertise in Java-based applications, microservices, and cloud technologies will shape the future of our high-volume, mission-critical systems. You’ll lead and inspire talented engineering teams while collaborating across business and technology units to deliver impactful solutions that power connectivity and communication.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, high-transaction Java applications leveraging Spring and RESTful architectures.

  • Architect and drive adoption of microservices and cloud-native solutions using AWS, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.

  • Manage and mentor a diverse team of 10+ IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

  • Oversee Agile software development lifecycle processes, ensuring quality, timely delivery, and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business stakeholders and IT partners to align technical initiatives with strategic goals.

  • Drive innovation by researching and recommending new technologies and best practices to enhance system performance and reliability.

  • Champion continuous integration, automated testing, and deployment using tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, JUnit, and Mockito.

  • Lead vendor and consultant partnerships to augment project delivery and technology adoption efforts.

What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years of experience building and delivering robust Java/Spring-based applications in high-volume, high-transaction environments.

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with microservices architecture and at least 2 years working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • 6+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams, with a proven track record of coaching and developing talent.

  • Strong strategic and analytical skills to evaluate emerging technologies and guide architectural decisions.

  • Deep expertise in modern middleware technologies, performance tuning, and production support.

  • Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks (GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, JUnit, Mockito).

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).

Our Assoc Director-Technology II, earns between $174,100-$261,100 USD Annual Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
