Position: Technical Sourcing Manager

The Technical Sourcing Manager at AT&T is responsible for sourcing and supporting the adoption of advanced technologies, including cloud solutions, AI/ML, and automation. This role involves strategic planning, cost analysis, and managing supplier relationships to ensure compliance with technology strategies and business needs. The manager will work closely with business unit stakeholders to negotiate contracts, analyze technology offerings, and drive change across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist client organizations in setting strategy for business processes and sourcing operations.
  • Conduct strategic planning and technology advancement incorporating various technologies such as cloud, AI/ML, and IoT.
  • Provide sourcing and cost analysis support to ensure solutions align with technology strategies.
  • Negotiate security controls to mitigate technology risks and ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Analyze software SKUs to ensure comprehensive technology sourcing events.
  • Review architecture to determine applicable cloud terms for contracts.
  • Translate network architectures and technology evolution into business value and contractual terms.
  • Align pricing models with technology cost drivers and business value.
  • Transform technical requirements into contractual obligations for supplier accountability.
  • Manage business processes and governance for spend data optimization and compliance.
  • Utilize risk management expertise to ensure stakeholder awareness of laws and regulations.
  • Drive change and action across companies, cultures, and functions.
  • Apply best practices knowledge to improve sourcing processes.
  • Oversee small to large projects involving cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in managing strategic supplier relationships and contracts.
  • Strong background in IT, technology, and IT professional services negotiation.
  • Experience with Cloud Service Providers (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), SaaS, and software licensing.
  • Ability to manage intense workloads within short timeframes.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and legal drafting skills.
  • Experience in business, cost management, and quality assurance.
  • Structured process-oriented approach to sourcing and contract management.
  • Skilled in creating Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and financial modeling for sourcing events.
  • Understanding of complex contractual terms and conditions, including intellectual property ownership.
  • Ability to generate comprehensive commercial deal sheets based on client requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Inquisitive and enthusiastic about technology with a good sense of humor.

Compensation

Our Lead Technical Sourcing Manager earns between $106,100 - $159,100 USD annually. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
