Principal System Engineer — Digital Architecture (eCommerce)
The AT&T Digital Architecture team is seeking a dynamic Principal System Engineer with a deep passion for the eCommerce industry. We are looking for an analytical, adaptable professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at managing multiple priorities.
As a key member of our architecture team, you will serve as a full stack System Architect, responsible for designing and guiding the development of large-scale, high-performance, modern web applications. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping multi-year architectural roadmaps that drive our digital sales and acquisition initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, and oversee scalable, robust web applications within the digital sales and acquisition domain.
- Develop and maintain long-term architectural roadmaps aligned with business goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver complex, enterprise-level solutions in a product development model.
- Mentor and guide junior architects, fostering technical growth and best practices.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively to stakeholders at all levels.
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and incorporate best-in-class solutions into our architecture.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years hands-on experience in full stack architecture for modern web applications, particularly in the eCommerce or digital acquisition space.
- 8-10+ Years in software engineering and architecture, with a proven ability to deliver large-scale, performant solutions.
- Demonstrated success navigating and delivering results within large, cross-organizational software development projects.
- In-depth knowledge of current cloud platforms and related technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and lead technical discussions.
- Experience mentoring and developing junior technical talent.
- Proven track record in digital architectural solutions across web & native applications and including RESTful APIs, GraphQL, microservices, performance, security, resiliency, maintainability
- 2+ years in CI/CD technologies: GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, Sonar
- Cloud & Edge Computing experience: Azure, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Redis, Cassandra, Akamai
- Extensive UML modeling experience
- Experience with Agile/Scrum/Kanban
- Full Stack experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in wireless/fiber telco/ISP domain (architecture, design, development, testing)
- Experience with commerce & catalog systems
- Experience with personalization platforms
- UI Stack: React, Next.JS, Bit, NX, Sanity.io
- SAFe Certified

Our Principal System Engineering, earns between $158,200-$237,400 USD Annual not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
