The Sr Specialist Cyber Security Threat Engine team member will be responsible for contributing to the analysis, development and testing of relevant software features in a consistent manner for the platform while adhering with all AT&T/industry testing and security best practices.
Sr Specialist Cyber Security – Threat Engine Team Responsibilities
- Analyze ambiguous requirements for Software Defined Networking (SDN) features and work collaboratively with client teams to define the system needs
- Design, develop and test existing and new features using Typescript, Python and other implementation technologies
- Design, develop and maintain automated test cases and frameworks to ensure maximum test coverage while driving efficiencies into the testing process
- Participate actively in code reviews (git pull requests) as both reviewer and contributor to ensure the highest possible code quality and least possible defects delivered to test
- Collaborate closely with partner teams, this role will participate actively in integration testing efforts, ensuring seamless interoperability between Threat Engine and upstream/downstream systems
- Contribute actively using Agile methodology and regular Scrum meetings, such as by writing and using User Stories and Bug tickets in Jira
- Work independently with modest supervision
Responsibilities:
- Independently responsible for the entire lifecycle of assigned projects or features including autonomous development and contributing to the engineering requirements with a duty to ensure that security, reliability, and performance standards are met. – 50%
- Work with team members and adjacent teams on development, platform, and system test related tasks. – 25%
- Resolve development issues and drive platform innovation. - 10%
- Serve as the technical escalation point for adjacent teams i.e. Platform & System Test teams – 10%
- Generate reports. create release notes documentation, contribute to team metrics. - 5%
Required/Desired Skills:
- 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Demonstrated foundational experience working with an object-oriented programming language (Python) and associated technologies (eg. Spring/JMX/JDBC).
- Ability to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities in software prior to code deployments.
- 2+ years of experience in the Hadoop ecosystem and related technologies (HBase, Hive 3, HDFS, Spark).
- Knowledge of modern development methodologies and tools (Jenkins/Maven/Jira).
- Solid understanding of Linux Operating system, Shell scripting, OS troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of/about well-known networking protocols and services (FTP, HTTP, SSH, SMB, LDAP, etc.).
- Experience working with open-source software/community.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies, e.g. SCRUM.
- Basic understanding of Cloud architecture & technologies

Our Sr Specialist Cybersecurity earns between $105,600-$158,400 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
