Overall Purpose:
Responsible for supporting and maintaining a complex data network involving TCP/IP and related protocol connectivity for networks supporting AT&T customers in a 7x24 environment.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Supports and maintains IPAG, VPLS and MetroE networks through alarm and ticket systems, change management systems, software and equipment upgrades, individual designed customized scripts, customer notifications, and business partner escalations.
Provides real time in-depth analysis and trouble resolution of incidents associated with the Juniper, Cisco, and associated Operations Support Systems and Data Communications Network Technology platforms.
Possesses understanding of Layer Two Switching concepts, VLAN configuration and troubleshooting, IEEE 802.3z Gigabit Ethernet Standard, and solid technical background on Cisco and Juniper MX Platforms.
Requires a solid technical background in data communications, switches, and routers. Excellent communication and teamwork skills necessary to perform complex assignments, troubleshoot and maintain the network, and communicate and coordinate with internal and external teams.
Provides tech troubleshooting and leadership to recover from the most complex network problems.
May lead cross-functional teams on specific issues and/or projects.
The position requires an operations/networking background combined with creative and independent thinking.
This includes the ability to analyze complex circuit/networking issues and routing problems, an extensive knowledge in network design and maintenance, and an overall understanding of the Ethernet transport principles. Must be able to work multiple shifts (days, evenings, nights), weekends, and holidays in 7x24 environment.
Job Contribution:
Technical professional with some experience. Sound technical knowledge growing through application, expanding knowledge of ATT technologies.
Education: Typically a BS degree in Math, Science or Engineering, Computer Sciences or Operations preferred or equivalent related network experience.
Certifications: JNCIS or higher.
Experience: 3+ years experience in a network operations environment.
Technical Career Pathway (TCP) role.
Qualifications:
Required: • 3-5 years network experience
Desired: • BS, including Engineering, Computer Sciences, or other technical discipline • CISCO and CCNA Certifications • Knowledge of OSI Layer 3 • Technical writing skills • Junos Certifications - JNCIS or higher • Project Management skills • Software Testing Skills
Our Senior Network Technology Support, earns between $105,600-$158,400 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
