Marketing Measurement and Optimization (MMO)

The mission of the MMO team is to develop and implement an approach to quantify the holistic drivers of demand to understand the opportunity costs of investment decisions. We measure the impact media, offers, and all other drivers has on sales, profitability, brand equity, and consumer behavior.
About the Role
The Lead Marketing Measurement Analytics role is a Senior Manager level role responsible leading AT&T's marketing measurement program, developing and maintaining a suite of statistical analysis, including market mix models (MMM), to generate actionable insights to drive strategic decisions.
The individual is the main program manager for 1 or more AT&T lines of business, serving as the project manager, data expert, insights analyst, lead presenter, and technical advisor on all marketing measurement modeling and analytics.
The individual will need to partner with internal teams across marketing, operations, and finance, manage external agencies and consultancies to develop insights and tactics to increase sales, lower churn, develop the brand and optimize AT&T’s deployment of advertising messages, mass media, social media, direct/digital marketing, sponsorship, and offers.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Marketing Performance Measurement:
- Develop and integrate measurement programs like MMM, custom models, and marketing experiments to drive actionable insights to inform strategic decisions
- Work closely with internal marketing analytics subject matter experts to design and deliver new analytics capabilities
- Partner with internal teams to create a measurement framework to evaluate all marketing activities, rooted in KPIs that matter and key marketing objectives
- For assigned Line of Business, will manage all aspects of marketing modeling projects, from initial stakeholder alignment, business case development, data collection, model development and validation, insights extraction, visualization, presentations to stakeholders, forward-looking media planning, optimizations and scenario planning
- Insights Development, Reporting, and Visualization
- Lead the creation of executive communication deliverables in PowerPoint, dashboard reporting, emails, etc. working across MGO and its partners
- Generate crisp insights on AT&T marekting effectiveness and develop actionable recommendations for cross-functional partners and senior executives
- Establish and maintain a recurring read-out cadence with key partners
- Marketing Program Leadership:
- Influence business decisions through persuasive presentation of key insights and solutions to marketing executives
- Establish strong program management discipline across entire team
- Lead program management meetings with key external measurement partners to monitor progress towards milestones/deliverables and managing through any risks/issues
- Centralize prioritization and alignment of measurement requests from internal partners
- Support team members to drive broader program adoption and integration of all performance analytics
Preferred Criteria
- 3-7 years of experience in measurement of marketing impact, marketing attribution, sales analytics, and/or application of regression modeling results
- Knowledge of media and advertising and passion for driving change through compelling data and analytics
- Experience with statistical regression and attribution modeling such as MMM, MTA, either through hands-on development, in-house management, or working with leading external measurement partners would be highly helpful
- Experience managing large, complex data sets and distilling actionable insights from them for an executive audience
- Experience with data processing and visualization tools such as SQL, Palantir, Python, Tableau, PowerBI, Snowflake would be highly helpful
- Expert with PowerPoint and Excel
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively and drive alignment across cross-functional teams
- Experience working with in matrixed organizations and ability to collaborate with non-direct reports to drive change
- Equally comfortable working independently in a multitasking environment and as a team player influencing a wide range of business constituencies
- Entrepreneurial spirit and desire to innovative, ability to stand up new functions, and transform ways-of-working
