The Legal Administrative Assistant provides comprehensive administrative and clerical support to attorneys and paralegals in the legal department. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with legal terminology and tools to ensure the smooth operation of legal processes and administrative tasks.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Administrative Support:

  • Develop and maintain organized legal and business filing systems.
  • Prepare business letters, legal documents, and correspondence using Microsoft Word.
  • Create reports and presentations using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Manage court filings and case file organization, including proficiency with state and federal e-filing systems.

Research and Document Preparation:

  • Conduct basic research in law journals and legal publications.
  • Format legal documents and spreadsheets accurately.

Scheduling and Calendar Management:

  • Schedule depositions, mediations, meetings, and teleconferences.
  • Manage multiple calendars with the ability to adapt to changing schedules and priorities.

Team Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work collaboratively with geographically distributed teams and legal department staff, including senior executives.
  • Serve as a liaison for administrative practices, providing guidance to assistants and managers.

Special Projects:

  • Perform research, compile and analyze data, determine approaches, and prepare reports for special projects.

General Administrative Duties:

  • Process bills, vouchers, payroll, personnel requests, and budgets.
  • Coordinate office services, workspace requests, and equipment needs.
  • Support organizational programs such as charitable campaigns, employee recognition, and records retention.
  • Provide back-up support to the Executive Assistant during absences.

Travel Planning and Expense Management:

  • Arrange travel plans and itineraries.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as tracking vacation balances, processing expense reports, and renewing bar memberships.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of legal administrative experience.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Technical Proficiency:Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with state and federal e-filing systems.
  • Organizational Skills:Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and ensure accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Communication:Strong interpersonal skills to work smoothly with diverse teams and clients at all organizational levels.
  • Confidentiality:Commitment to maintaining sensitive information securely.
  • Problem-Solving:Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and resolve conflicts efficiently.
  • Project Management:Experience with research, data analysis, and report preparation.

Our Sr Associate Secretary earn between $71,900 - $107,900 USD Annual. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
