Overall Purpose
The Principal Workplace Planner will lead and strategically manage construction projects from inception to completion. This role involves developing comprehensive plans, ensuring technical excellence and quality, facilitating stakeholder communication, maintaining emergency response readiness, enforcing safety protocols, and performing additional duties to support project success and organizational alignment.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Project Leadership and Strategic Planning
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for construction projects.
- Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Ensure project alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Technical Excellence and Quality Assurance
- Conduct in-depth technical analysis, review blueprints, and ensure adherence to engineering principles and construction methodologies.
- Establish and enforce rigorous quality control measures through regular site inspections to achieve superior workmanship and compliance with technical standards.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, progress updates, and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders.
Emergency Response and Safety Leadership: Maintain 24/7 readiness to respond to emergency situations, ensuring telecommunication network reliability. Implement and enforce stringent safety protocols, promoting a culture of safety and minimizing workplace incidents.
Other Duties as Assigned: Perform additional responsibilities to support the successful planning, execution, and completion of construction projects, including problem-solving, regulatory compliance, and resource optimization.
Job Contribution: An expert in their field, leveraging advanced knowledge to shape company objectives and achieve goals. Leads impactful, wide-scope projects, creatively solving complex problems and developing policy changes. Identifies innovative solutions with significant operational impact. Works autonomously, frequently engaging with senior and executive leaders and serving as a strategic advisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No.
Environmental Requirements This position may require contributing to AT&T’s compliance with environmental laws and regulations, including tasks related to fuel tanks, emergency generators, boilers, hazardous waste/materials, batteries, manholes, vaults, water wells, linear construction projects, water discharge, and air emissions.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Interior Design or Engineering (BS/BA) desired. 10+ years of related experience.
