Job Title: Cloud Architect – Emerging Solutions
Location: AT&T Headquarters, Dallas, TX
Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience building large-scale cloud environments
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
Certifications: Required – Professional Cloud Architect certification with at least one of the leading hyperscaler
About the Role:
AT&T’s Emerging Products team is looking for an experienced Cloud Architect to drive innovation through scalable cloud solution and AI design. This is an individual contributor role that provides architectural leadership and technical guidance to multiple product teams. You will design and implement cost-effective, secure, and reliable cloud environments while collaborating with cloud providers and cross-functional stakeholders to accelerate AT&T’s product innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and design end-to-end cloud architectures for large-scale, mission-critical environments supporting IOT emerging products.
- Lead and provide solution design and architectural direction to product delivery teams as an individual contributor.
- Collaborate closely with hyperscaler and other cloud ISV partners to optimize cloud resource utilization and solution effectiveness.
- Architect cloud infrastructures that are scalable, secure, highly available, and cost optimized.
- Establish and enforce best practices, governance, and standards for cloud architecture and usage.
- Monitor cloud environments to ensure high performance, reliability, and security compliance.
- Drive continuous innovation and improvements in cloud architecture and operational processes.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and customer-centric focus within teams.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience architecting and building large-scale cloud environments.
- Professional certification at a Solutions Architect level for AWS, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect (required).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
- Strong expertise with Kubernetes, Terraform, and DevOps tools is mandatory.
- Proven ability to lead and guide multiple product teams as an individual contributor.
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure services, networking, security, and cost management.
- Solid understanding of IoT, 5G, AI, and Telecom Networks technologies and their integration with cloud environments.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated passion for innovation and delivering customer-focused solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced cloud, security, or architecture certifications.
- Experience designing and automating CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Our Principal Cloud Architect earn between $158,200 - $237,400 USD Annual. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers.
