Job Summary: The System Engineer/System Administrator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our company's IT systems. This role involves managing servers, networks, and other critical infrastructure components to ensure optimal performance and security. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and maintain IT systems, including servers, networks, and storage solutions.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
Implement security measures to protect data and systems from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
Collaborate with other IT staff to plan and execute projects.
Provide technical support and guidance to end-users.
Document system configurations, procedures, and policies.\
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a System Engineer or System Administrator.
Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.) and network protocols.
Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Technical Skills Required:
Experience writing Ansible/CHEF playbooks and modules.
In-depth understanding of HTTP and experience testing RESTful JAVA applications.
In-depth understanding of Load Balancers (HAProxy).
In-depth understanding of SSL, Ciphers, TLS, Certificates.
In-depth understanding of networking and tools used to debug networking issues (tcpdump, netstat, lsof, etc.).
Experience using Jenkins for building, deploying, and automating job creation.
Experience with VPC (NAT Gateways, Subnets, IP Routing).
Basic understanding of web server applications with database back-end infrastructure.
Basic understanding of Agile Project Management and SCRUM best practices.
Basic knowledge of the creation and use of REST APIs.
Experience creating automation for IT environments using REST, Chef/Ansible, PowerShell, etc.
Basic understanding of client-server environments, networking components, and client operating systems.
Basic understanding of IP Networking.
Basic understanding of troubleshooting network connectivity.
Solid working knowledge of enterprise deployment strategies for high-availability.
Advanced knowledge installing, troubleshooting, and diagnostics of Linux servers, Domain Name servers (DNS).
Ability to administer web servers, redirect HTTP traffic, interpret application logs, configure load balancers.
Our Lead Member of Technical Staff, earns between $153,300.00 - $257,400.00 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
