Summary:
AT&T’s Marketing & Growth Organization delivers cutting-edge advertising that elevates AT&T’s historic brand and put the customer at the forefront of everything we do. The Research, Analytics and Impact team is looking for an experienced marketing professional to join our Advertising, Messaging and Retail Research group and support decision making through strong research programs. This market research and analysis role will gather data and conduct research to assess the impact of marketing in the retail space and omnichannel shopping experiences to support the evolution of AT&T’s marketing and digital strategies. In addition to this, this role will be responsible for partnering with external vendors to conduct quick-turn research on a variety of ad-hoc business topics. The analyst should have diverse experience with research programs, data analysis, and be able to collaborate with other team members to curate and develop story-driven insights to inform the business.
Overview of Role:
Design, Manage and Optimize Retail and Shopper research tools to guide Omnichannel experience and marketing decision-making within the AT&T Consumer Line of Business. Manage and deploy quick-turn ad hoc studies leveraging trusted vendor partners and tools. Contribute to holistic advertising insights alongside team members conducting messaging, creative, and in-market advertising tracking programs.
- Retail Tracking – an ongoing program measuring the impact of in-store signage and device partnerships to improve the overall impact of retail assets
- Omnichannel Shopper Research – Ad-Hoc research needs supporting the Digital Growth Team in their goals to improve the digital shopping experience for current and prospective customers
- Quick-Turn Program – Ad-Hoc studies that need quick, actionable insights, primarily in service of improving marketing strategies
Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end management of the Retail Tracking program, ensuring robust methodologies, timely execution, and actionable insights
- Manage the creation and delivery of strategic Omnichannel Shopper Insights for the Digital Growth team
- Design, manage, and deploy quick turn research with speed and precision in partnership with trusted vendors
- Possess expert knowledge within the marketing research field (both qualitative and quantitative approaches, sampling, and data analysis) and the ability to integrate critical information from many diverse areas.
- Ensure high-quality data collection, analysis, and synthesis, leveraging a wide range of best-in-class market research and advanced analytics techniques
- Translate raw data into meaningful insights, crafting compelling narratives that drive business impact. Prepare presentation materials with clear reports, charts, tables, and other visual aids to support findings. Present findings to stakeholders in a persuasive, passionate, and articulate manner.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure research efforts are aligned with business needs
- Manage multiple, simultaneous research programs with support from outside research firms
- Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate data, insights, and form recommendations related to marketing and shopper experience tactics
Position Qualifications
Deep expertise in designing and executing primary market research (quantitative and qualitative):
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Market Research professional
- Experience assessing methodological options and recommending Market Research approaches that answer key business questions in a quick and cost-effective manner
- A critical thinker with experience crafting easy to follow, “voice of the customer” centric stories for business stakeholders that enable them to drive actions and decisioning
The successful candidate will be (or have):
- The ability to multitask and deliver multiple simultaneous projects on time with high quality
- A strong cross-functional collaborator and partner to internal stakeholder to drive alignment and influence decision making and action plans
- The ability to synthesize large amounts of data and extract critical insights and implications
- Able to clearly communicate key insights (verbally and in writing) and speak/act with confidence
- A multi-dimensional thinker who operates not only based on past experiences but stays abreast of approaches and developments occurring in the marketing research fields
- BS/BA required or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred
Preferred:
- 3+ years of experience working for a 3rd Party Primary Research Provider
- Prior experience running shopper and quick-turn research programs
