We are seeking a strategic and knowledgeable Environmental Program Lead to serve as a subject matter expert (SME) responsible for oversight of environmental compliance programs and practices across the organization. This role ensures that company environmental programs are effectively designed to meet relevant regulatory requirements while aligning with operations and corporate sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary subject matter expert: Serve as the primary subject matter expert for environmental compliance programs, providing guidance and expertise across the organization. Collaborate cross-functionally to support environmental compliance within operational practices.
Legislative and regulatory review: Interpret and apply federal, state, and local environmental regulations to company operations. Stay current with evolving environmental laws, regulations, and industry best practices to proactively adjust programs and policies.
Development and oversight of environmental practices: Develop or modify environmental programs and practices to accommodate new and/or changing regulation. Design and implement program initiatives that support regulatory adherence and promote operational efficiency.
Monitor program effectiveness: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with senior leadership priorities. Prepare and present clear, concise reports and presentations on environmental program status, risks, and achievements for senior leadership.
Communication and outreach: Lead training and awareness initiatives to foster an organizational culture of environmental responsibility and compliance with environmental programs and practices.
Job Contribution: An experienced professional and environmental subject matter expert, creatively resolving complex issues with broad and in-depth knowledge. Leads environmental practices with strategic autonomy, influencing operations decisions. Communicates objectives, implements long-term plans impacting the organization, and frequently collaborates with senior leadership.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, or related field preferred.
Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Environmental Professional, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor) are a plus but not a must have.
Extensive experience in environmental compliance management within a complex organizational setting.
Proven knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and the ability to apply them practically.
Successful track record of developing and managing effective environmental programs with measurable outcomes.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in KPI development and data-driven reporting.
Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to translate technical information for diverse audiences and engage senior leadership.
Demonstrated leadership and project management abilities.
Environmental Requirements: This position may be responsible for contributing to AT&Ts compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.
Our Environmental Program Lead earn between $118,800 - $178,200 USD Annual. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers.
