Overview:
The Director of Creative Direction role requires an individual who can identify, develop and lead award-winning creative campaigns. We’re looking for an experienced leader who is an expert at customer-centric storytelling in advertising, as well as at negotiating and ‘selling-in’ breakthrough campaigns to internal partners and senior executives.
The Director must be able to adapt seamlessly to changing business needs and competitive moves, while maintaining a very high benchmark on emotional resonance and efficacy of campaigns. While new AI tools are shortening our timelines, we need a creative leader that doesn’t settle for anything less than thumb-stopping creative that builds enduring Consideration for AT&T.
The Director of Creative Direction will lead a team of employees and guide multiple large agency teams. Experience working on a top-tier brand – either corporate side or at an agency in an Account, Strategy or Creative function is required to be successful in this role.
The perfect candidate is also fluent in assessing customer research, media mix models, and can identify trends and develop campaign insights.
Responsibilities:
In this role the Director will lead a cross-functional creative content team, and serve as a customer champion for advertising initiatives that influence leadership to act, and must:
- Lead advertising campaign strategy in support of a large team – being directly responsible for the creation, leadership, timelines and integration of all projects across the team.
- Design and manage new Artificial Intelligence testing and optimization tools for the advertising team – all to improve the personalization and relevance of campaign content contributing to more efficient Return on Advertising Spend (ROAS).
- Excel in relationship management, negotiation and partnership with internal business units, external vendors, and direct reports to align against objectives, recommended approaches, creative output, and optimizations across all advertising channels, mediums, and platforms.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field required
- Experience: 15+ years of advertising and brand marketing experience with a mix of strategy, production and analytics; minimum of 3 years of people management.
- Recognized expert in advertising strategy, creative development, and campaign management
- Business-to-business marketing experience – at brand, agency, or consulting firm is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communicator with superior presentation and ‘storytelling’ skills.
- Personable, approachable, adaptable; ability to participate on and lead cross-functional work teams, resolve conflict and drive consensus.
