The Associate Director EH&S – Environmental Services is responsible for leading and overseeing the Air and Water Program to ensure full compliance with U.S. environmental regulations and standards related to air emissions, stormwater, and wastewater. This leadership role oversees regulatory compliance, vendor management, and program budgeting and drives continuous improvement through performance metrics. Partnering with business units, the Associate Director integrates compliance initiatives into operations and addresses challenges with innovative solutions. Acting as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, this role ensures timely reporting, effective compliance efforts, and alignment with corporate environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership and Team Oversight
- Oversee the Air and Water Program to ensure compliance with U.S. environmental regulations, including air emissions, stormwater, and wastewater standards.
- Support the interpretation and implementation of air and water regulatory requirements into operational policies and procedures.
- Lead the Air and Water Team by providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to foster professional growth and accountability.
- Set clear goals and priorities to achieve compliance milestones while promoting a collaborative, results-driven team culture focused on operational excellence.
- Establish and manage metrics to track program performance, drive continuous improvement, and align with Corporate EH&S goals.
Vendor Management
- Review and negotiate vendor contracts to meet specific requirements related to the Air and Water Program.
- Evaluate and manage vendors to ensure alignment with company goals and air and water regulatory standards, while building and maintaining good working relationships to support compliance efforts and program objectives.
- Conduct regular assessments of vendor performance to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
Budget Oversight
- Manage the budget for the Air and Water Program, ensuring expenditures align with organizational goals and compliance objectives.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining the integrity and quality of air and water compliance measures.
- Provide regular updates and forecasts to senior leadership on program spending and budget performance.
Collaboration with Business Units
- Partner with business unit (BU) managers to integrate air and water compliance initiatives into broader company operations and goals.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to address compliance challenges related to air quality, stormwater, and wastewater, implementing best practices and innovative solutions.
- Ensure air and water compliance efforts are seamlessly integrated into business processes without disrupting operations.
Regulatory Interaction
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies on air and water compliance, ensuring effective and robust compliance efforts.
- Supervise the preparation and submission of timely reports on air emissions, stormwater, and wastewater compliance to regulatory agencies.
