Job Overview

AT&T is building a new era of intelligent automation. As a Medior AI Automation Engineer, you will help design, build, and deploy agentic AI solutions that are transforming how AT&T divisions work and deliver value. You’ll leverage the power of LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and next-gen AI agents to automate complex, traditionally manual workflows helping drive new levels of productivity and efficiency.

You’ll work hands-on with Python to develop cloud-native, containerized (Docker) solutions and integrate cutting-edge AI frameworks like LangGraph and advanced prompt engineering. Collaborating with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams, you’ll learn best practices for secure, ethical, and scalable AI automation at enterprise scale.

Core Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and agentic AI solutions to support advanced analytics and automation.

  • Implement scalable AI-driven workflows using Generative AI, Agentic AI, LLMs, RAG pipelines, and orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph).

  • Work with both structured and unstructured data, applying AI platforms and basic statistical quality controls.

  • Build and maintain scalable, production-grade applications with a focus on Python.

  • Take responsibility for assigned technical deliverables within the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

  • Apply best practices in software engineering, code quality, testing, and DevOps.

  • Use AI-driven tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, LLMs, RAGs) and proactively learn emerging technologies.

  • Participate in agile project delivery, team ceremonies, and cross-functional initiatives.

  • Seek mentorship and guidance from senior engineers and be open to continuous learning and improvement.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

Day-to-Day

  • Hands-on development of data pipelines, agentic workflows, and AI-powered automations.

  • Reviewing code, troubleshooting, and optimizing data and AI-driven workflows.

  • Facilitating technical discussions, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.

  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (engineering, data science, legal, security, policy).

  • Supporting high standards in technical delivery while learning from peers and mentors.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with data and AI engineering platforms (Microsoft Copilot, LangGraph, LLMs, RAG).

  • Strong skills in Python (experience with Java/TypeScript or SQL a bonus).

  • Demonstrated ability to implement scalable pipelines and agentic AI solutions.

  • Experience with structured and unstructured data, including validation and quality checks.

  • Familiarity with code quality and security tools (Lint, Prettier, Veracode, SonarQube).

  • Knowledge of CI/CD automation (GitHub Actions, Terraform) and cloud-native platforms (Azure, Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies (Agile/Scrum, SAFe).

  • Good communication and collaboration skills.

Additional Desirable Experience

  • Awareness of AI security and AI/data governance best practices.

  • Experience with migration or modernization of legacy systems.

  • Exposure to large, distributed enterprise environments.


Education

Bachelor level degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or related field of study.

Location and Work Environment

These roles are based in Bratislava, Slovakia; Kosice, Slovakia; and Brno, Czechia. They are hybrid-flex positions requiring presence in the office 1-3 times per week, with occasional travel between these locations.
