The Principal Cybersecurity Mobile Device Security SME will work with other cybersecurity SMEs, software engineers and technical operations teams to design, implement, deploy, activate and operate management and security controls on Corporate Mobile Devices.
This role involves leading security initiatives, advising on security best practices, and ensuring the organization's mobile ecosystem is protected against various threats through proper activation and configuration.
The SME will help ensure that our mobile devices, their associated applications and infrastructure are designed and implemented to the highest security standards.
By serving as a point of contact to Cybersecurity teams, performing technical security assessments, code reviews and vulnerability testing, they will highlight risk and remediate associated findings while helping AT&T teams, customers and partners improve security.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for reviewing and making recommendations on vendor offerings such as new and enhanced mobile operating systems, OS version upgrades, new OS security functionality.
- Research and respond to changes in mobile platforms, threats, and attacks in the wild.
- Manage device application assignments within an MDM environment.
- Interface with groups including Cybersecurity, application support, engineering ops, privacy, customers to implement and maintain mobile security measures.
- Assist in the monitoring of the vulnerability management process and security compliance.
- Perform security analysis of existing and new technologies and form recommendations on their use.
- Provide functional, technical and process guidance for team(s) delivering on given initiatives.
- Assist with incident response efforts related to mobile device security breaches.
- Promote and enforce secure coding practices for mobile application capabilities expansion.
- Provide clear communication regarding status of initiatives to all stakeholders.
- Mentor peers and junior team members on security technologies, solution design, and customer interaction.
Work Experience:
- 5-7 years working with Mobile Device Management solutions such as MobileIron and Intune from testing to production.
- 5+ years DevOps experience with infrastructure as code.
- 5+ years of experience in large scale application deployment and configuration.
- 5+ years using Azure cloud services.
- 7+ years technical engineering experience.
- 2+ years coaching and mentoring team members.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Android and iOS operating systems and their security features.
- Experience with mobile security technologies.
- Proficiency in analyzing vulnerabilities, recommending remediation measures, and ensuring compliance with security standards.
- Familiarity with mobile application development languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Swift, Objective-C) and frameworks.
- Understanding security protocols like TLS/SSL, encryption, and authentication.
- Comprehensive understanding of infrastructure parameters, configurations, and security.
- Proficient in providing information in visual form (Visio, PowerPoint) and experience with presenting to cross-functional security and business teams.
- Collaborate with performance team to deliver scalable capabilities in business applications and/or correct issues
Education:
Preferred Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics or Cyber Security or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Typically requires 8-10 years of experience. Technical Career Pathway (TCP) role.

Our Principal Cybersecurity earns between $158,200-$237,400 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
