Overview:
This role supports operations for the AT&T Intellectual Property (IP) team, managing resources, supplier relationships, software applications and interactions of the team with business units and inventors. Deep technical knowledge is not required but the individual needs to be aware of AT&T’s core technology areas and help us identify how we can best protect AT&T’s innovations.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Patent Sales and Licensing:
Patent sales is a complex balance of business relationships, broker relationships, requiring critical judgement to close multi-million dollar deals. This role is expected to build relationships with executives from the world’s top companies and position AT&T’s patent portfolio for purchase or licensing, matching their needs for business development, technology demands, and litigation protection. Additionally, this position is required to work with multiple brokers to assist in monetizing AT&T’s patent portfolio. This role will include some travel to conferences and events to maximize face-to-face relationship building with both company executives and brokers.
Brand Licensing:
This role will work with other companies to utilize the AT&T Brand to assist in their marketing and brand awareness. There will be a concentration on the AT&T co-branded credit card relationship.

Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired. 7+ years of related experience.
A Problem Solving Mindset and Critical Thinking ability are the most important qualifications for this role.
Individual should be open to new ideas and ways of doing things.
Ability to use Excel functions, PowerBI is desired.
Ability to learn new applications and use them to support the IP team.
Our Principal Intellectual Property earns between $141,300.00 - $211,900.00 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
