The Lead System Engineer (LSE) will lead architecture and technology decisions for new business functionalities within the Amdocs BSSe suite of applications for our next generation billing platform. The LSE will lead journey feature solutioning by grooming, reviewing, and documenting high-level cross-ART/Supplier impacts within the first degree of separation of the BPU ART. Identify and raise risks in Azure DevOps (ADO) to the PM/RTE. Capture and communicate development, integration, and deployment dependencies to support PM/PO in tracking Supplier features for delivery. Create and store the feature design document on SharePoint.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
-Elaborate the design and interfaces for specific components including: Define subsystems and their interfaces, allocate responsibilities to subsystems, understand solution deployment, and communicate requirements for interactions with solution context.
-Align development teams to a shared technical direction and partners with those teams in elaborating the Solution and its interfaces; Validate technology assumptions, evaluate implementation alternatives.
-Establish critical NFRs at the solution level, participate in the definition of others. Create and enable the Continuous Delivery Pipeline including: Participate in planning, definition, and high-level design of the system solution and explore alternatives.
-Develop the Architectural Runway in support of new business Features and Capabilities; Work with portfolio stakeholders, Solution and Enterprise Architects, to develop, analyze, split, and realize the implementation of enablers; Participate in project planning, system and solution demos, retrospective workshops; Understand technical characteristics of and assist with architectural integration of external components, systems, and platforms.
-Have a strong understanding of Security design principals including authorization tools, user authentication and profile management.
-Proficient in solutioning and maintaining an Active/Active architecture to maintain application availability in order to meet the needs of the business.
-Active participant w/existing Agile scrum team in Bill, Pay, and Usage ART. LSE will attend PI planning sessions, scrum team calls, grooming sessions for user stories, and demo’s, acting as an approver from application.
-Ensure compliance with SOX program and Chief Security Office mandates, including vulnerability remediation.
Education:
Preferred Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math; Developer nanodegree; or equivalent experience preferred
Experience:
Typically requires 5-8 years experience. Technical Career Pathway (TCP) role.
Technical Skills Required:
Coding experience (within last 3 years)
Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
Experience with NoSQL databases, specifically Couchbase
Knowledge of version control systems such as Bitbucket
Familiarity with event streaming platforms like Kafka messaging (producing & consuming)
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins
Expertise in cloud deployment, preferably using Azure
Competence with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
Strong understanding of REST APIs and MVC architecture
Experience with Microservices, including the ability to scale
Experience with web server management using Apache
Proficiency in Python programming
Skilled in working with relational databases, specifically MySQL
Our Lead System Engineering, earns between $143,800.00 -$215,800.00 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
