Our overall EIS support team provides onsite and remote/cloud support for call-center and other required support endeavors.  We work with both voice and data vendors to combine and provide the most effective and proficient solutions for the DOS communities.  DOS supports some 80+ Domestic and 285 +/- locations globally and requires constant support for our Nation’s Diplomats.  This also includes providing, operating and assuring critical voice, video and collaboration services for the full spectrum of diplomatic operations.

AT&T has an opening for a Cloud Engineer-Cleared supporting the EIS CPMO office at the US Department of State in establishing their CPMO efforts for future operations and strategies.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

 Key Elements:  Key element we are looking for here is expertise in Infrastructure as Code and specifically Terraform, as that is the solution of choice in CPMO; and of course, solid engineering/architecture experience on a major cloud platform and willingness/ability to adapt that knowledge to the GCP.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead solution development for Google cloud-based solutions
  • Architect, design, and implement plans for deploying complex enterprise solutions and services on Google Cloud 
  • Architect highly available, fault-tolerant solutions with a disaster recovery strategy; plan and execute regular fire drill activities
  • Provide guidance and technical advice to clients and colleagues, and being actively involved with the team daily
  • Develop proofs-of-concept for architectural designs and create Google Cloud PaaS and IaaS estimates with high-level technical plans.

Qualifications:

  • Must have 3+ years of work experience architecting and engineering Enterprise Cloud Platform technologies such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Must have hands-on experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code tool)
  • Must have experience building and automating CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab or equivalent; building infrastructure; and automating service deployment leveraging scripting capabilities and infrastructure-as-code best practices
  • Five or more years of experience with:
    • Demonstrated cloud architecture projects and deployments.
    • Architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of enterprise-level cloud platforms, solutions, and services.
    • Architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of highly distributed applications (i.e., having an architectural sense for ensuring availability, reliability, etc.); and
    • Leading and implementing cloud strategy migration and architecture customization.
  • Experience with establishing technical strategy and architecture at an enterprise level
  • Expert level knowledge of security, authentication, MFA, authorization, data privacy, identity and access management (IAM), cryptography/key management, access controls, and security protocols
  • Some knowledge of GCP preferred, or the demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt skills across multiple Enterprise Cloud Platform technologies.

Preferred Experience and Education: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Computer Science or Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field 
  • Experience working with Federal government clients
  • Experience with Government Authority to Operate (ATO) security requirements and processes
  • Experience with DevOps practices (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, Agile Scrum Lifecycle, etc.)
  • Experience with Linux and Windows Operation Systems

Required Clearance:

Top Secret or Current Secret and Clearable to TS    (#secret) (#topsecret)
