The System Engineer (SE) position is responsible for developing network requirement documents including but not limited to Network Design Requirements (NDR) and Network Design Document (NDD) in support of transformation of the legacy AT&T TDM Long Distance switching and signaling networks. The SE will work with internal clients as well as vendors to define and document the solution architecture, network and platform requirements. The SE will also work closely with Tech Dev organization to assist in defining impacts to Operations Support Systems (OSS).

This position requires an individual who can work independently and as a member of a team, is a self-starter and is self-motivated. Candidates for this position are valued for having prior knowledge and experience with legacy AT&T TDM Long Distance Network technology, systems, operational organization and processes, and TDM Voice services. The extent of this background of experience level and range/breath of knowledge is a highly weighted factor consideration that would differentiate one candidate from another.

Required Skills, Certification, Experience, and Education:
• Background in Legacy T Network Infrastructure
• In-depth/extensive knowledge of:
o 4ESS/N4E and edge switches including custom announcement platform
o Legacy AT&T TDM LD Core Switch Network
o Legacy AT&T TDM LD Core Signaling Network (i.e., 2NCP, 2STP, etc.)
• Network Architecture
• Process Management
• Product and Service Design and Development
• System and Technology Integration
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong time management skills; highly organized, self-directed and efficient
• Strong analysis and problem-solving skills that can be applied to the projects
• Preferred Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math

Required Clearance: Willingness and suitability to obtain TS/SCI clearance

I believe in AT&T and know they are at the edge of technology. The company believes in their people and offers all kinds of training to enable us to take on new jobs and to stay at the front of technology. The software defined network which we are building is the newest technology and AT&T has been involved since early 2000s. You have a great deal of autonomy at AT&T as long as you get the job done. You have the ability to do different jobs and to be challenged at all times.
