ATIP (Advanced Technology Integration Program) is Task Order under the Helios IDIQ awarded to AT&T in September 2020.  AT&T’s ATIP contract provides a team of IT specialists that operate the DIA headquarters ATIP system that serves as the collection point for multiple Special Access Programs (SAPs) developed under Helios. These systems deliver their digital information payloads from across the globe and outer-space to the ATIP platform for processing, correlation and access by Defense Department analysts and decision-makers. The ATIP system is operated by AT&T specialists and selected AT&T Helios Teammates cleared to support the multitude highly sensitive programs.   

AT&T has an opening for a hands-on Chief Datacenter Engineer-Architect for the ATIP systems program. This key position will be providing managed IT support of systems for high-priority defense intelligence collection needs.  As the Chief Datacenter Engineer-Architect, with your team, you will enable the build out, onboard and operationalize new datacenter capacity.  You will be expected to provide the future data center architecture that meets the needs of the ATIP mission, comply with Information Assurance controls, and migrate to a mature enterprise-class data center architecture. This role calls for a balance of technical operations leadership, influence skills, supportive individual contributions, and expertise in IT operations.  You will mentor other engineers and share your knowledge with the team. We expect you to respect the opinions of others, accept constructive criticism, share your views with a passion for improving the entire team’s performance, and collaborate openly and positively with your teammates. 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage an engineering team consisting of system administrators, network engineers, system integrators, and cloud engineers responsible for designing and building the future ATIP IT instantiation. 
  • Responsible for directing the architecture and design of a highly available and scalable systems and recommend solution strategies, technologies, and tools to address technical challenges
  • Direct major system integration deliverables through all aspects of the development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design and testing.
  • Oversee enhancement and resolution of performance issues associated with the enterprise infrastructure
  • Excellent skills for troubleshooting hardware and software problems with Linux and Centos servers
  • Direct the development and enhancement of systems running Linux, Centos, and VMware that ensure availability to users
  • Engineer the enhancement of system performance
  • Developing and maintaining installation and configuration procedures for new server builds
  • Evaluating and implementing potential new tools and technologies
  • Tracking, reviewing, evaluating and approving Change Requests/Problem tickets using Jira
  • Supporting Information Assurance and Cybersecurity authorization to operate by closing POAMs (plan of actions and milestones/mitigations)
  • Investigating and responding to alerts generated by the various monitoring systems in use
  • Ensuring proper planning and executionof major projects/maintenance activities 

 Required Clearance:  

Mandatory Security Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with Polygraph (#ts/sci) (#polygraph)

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience serving as a technical lead to deliver entire projects spanning multiple technical areas.
  • Experience with multi-level classified network architectures
  • Linux System Administration background with experience managing Linux servers and cloud resources.
  • General understanding of TCP/IP and related protocols (HTTP, FTP, NFS, etc…)
  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institute in an area applicable to this position and four (4) years of relevant experience
  • An additional four (4) years of relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s Degree

Desired Qualifications:

Familiarity with virtual machines environments, Cloud Technologies, desktop virtualization (VMware, AWS, SecureView)
