Job Overview

Job Description:

Join AT&T’s Network Operations organization, and you’ll join a team committed to improving AT&T’s Global Network and Reliability Performance – keeping our customers connected to what matters most to them. Bring your bold ideas and desire to learn – you’ll be working with all the latest technologies on one of the world’s largest and geographically reaching fiber networks.  From small businesses to large enterprise customers, you’ll directly impact business critical services by keeping AT&T’s network running smoothly and help support our mission to connect the world in meaningful ways.

As a RAN Engineering Specialist, you’ll apply radio frequency (RF) principles to assist our team with building a better network.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Designs, plans and oversees installation, maintenance, and optimization, and/or performance of wireless radio access network communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout, parameter definition and ancillary equipment.

  • May include engineering, design, development, test, implementation, maintenance, RF optimization, capacity management, performance management, encryption, and/or troubleshooting of satellite networks and Teleports, including underlying routing.

  • May include GIS (Geographic Information Systems) performance analysis & drive testing.

  • Analyzes Radio Access Network (RAN) data to recommend optimal changes to RAN network to improve all key indexes and performance indicators.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or another STEM related field or equivalent experience.

  • 1-2 years of experience in network design, network planning or network analysis or related experience.

  • Interest in working with and understanding network data.

  • Ability to access data/KPIs via SQL and experience working with a scripting language like Python desired.

Our Specialist RAN Engineers earn between $87,200 - $130,800 yearly. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
