Senior Network Performance Management Engineer (Government)

The Performance Management Engineer is a virtual position with occasional travel to Vicksburg, MS or Hillsboro, OR. The Network Performance Management engineer shall recommend performance monitoring and data collection solutions that are focused on continually improved ACE-IT service performance. The IT Performance Management Engineer should have the experience to facilitate discussions with technical and non-technical audiences while acting as an intermediary and translator to identify functional and technical requirements effectively.

The ideal candidate must:
  • Employ advanced analytic methodologies to identify existing and emerging network performance trends.
  • Use advanced data analysis and statistical methodologies to correlate network / system / application events and performance monitoring data to identify complex relationships among ACE-IT services that result in degraded service performance.
  • Develop advanced reporting and data visualization views that are clear and easy to understand allowing the rapid identification of existing and emerging service performance issues.
  • Employ advanced data analytic and statistical methodologies to analyze ticket data from BMC Remedy / ServiceNow to identify performance issues from Incident Ticket data.
  • Provide expert level guidance to improve data quality and gathering methodologies.
  • Identify trends in specific hardware components / technologies that cause network related performance issues and outages
  • Provide expertise to identify network faults
  • Provide expertise to conduct root-cause analyses for network performance related issues.
  • Develop “alert signatures” that can be employed in automated tools to instrument the identification of existing and emerging complex performance issues.
  • Recommend machine learning and Artificial Intelligence based solutions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of network and performance monitoring.
  • Develop and recommend strategies to orchestrate “self healing” of current and existing service performance issues.

Required Skills, Certification, Experience, and Education:

  • 4 year Bachelors degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in conduct performance analysis of large-scale IT networks and services
  • Demonstrated experience in employing advanced data analytic methodologies to identify and correlate network performance problems
  • Demonstrated experience in advanced reporting and data visualization in network / IT systems
  • Demonstrated experience in providing network performance management support in a large-scale WAN environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and have hands-on experience in an larger WAN environment.

Desired:
  • Experience in major telco carrier performance management team; Experience with machine learning and AI technologies that support IT network fault / performance identification;
  • Experience in implementing “self healing” network methodologies; Experience in monitoring large-scale Cisco networks
