AT&T Global Public Sector is rolling out our “go big” growth strategy to accelerate cybersecurity new sales and revenue by 18% within public sector. We plan to augment our security sales resources.  These individuals will possess both extensive security knowledge and C level relationships with our Federal customers.  These resources are critical to growing our security funnel by 2x and delivering the desired growth in 2022 and beyond.

AT&T has an opening for a Principal Cyber Security Architect supporting Federal Civilian Agencies and Public Safety, in developing new cybersecurity opportunities, sales, and revenue.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Delivering new sales and revenue to AT&T cybersecurity business.  This position provides in depth consulting services by designing and developing the IT architecture and implementation plans of total systems solutions for the customer.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Designs and develops solutions that assist customers in managing major business processes in their overall enterprise structure.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of one or more industries, trends, and solutions.
  • Collaborates and confers with the customer in the strategic design process and translates business needs into technical system solutions.
  • Directly assists customers in the development of fully integrated systems including processors, peripherals, communications, operating systems, and applications software.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise in hardware capabilities, software requirements, and systems integration.
  • Determines the availability and viability of third-party components and services as needed.
  • Validates third party components comply with established architecture. Develops and design specifications for products and technologies.
  • Design’s quality control and test procedures to ensure the deliverables meet established design and performance goals.
  • Validates design proposals meet the customer’s needs. Identifies, analyzes, and evaluates alternative design solutions.
  • Approves integrated systems design proposals for technical content.
  • Establishes cost and time estimates for implementation. Monitors the implementation for technical correctness to ensure the customer needs are met.
  • Creates recommendations and implements new methods, techniques, and/or procedures.

Duties directly related to making sales includes:

Meeting with customers and engaging in sales activities at the customers site; communicating with customers via phone, teleconference, e-mail, etc. related to proposed solutions/sales, etc.; traveling to and from the customers premise for the purpose of engaging in sales activities; providing subject matter expertise regarding technical issues relating to sales; advising customers on suitability of products based on technical needs; preparing proposals, presentations, or bids, including developing pricing, developing strategic plans related to the customer and the proposed solutions/sales; researching and developing customer solutions with AT&T external partners, including design and engineering; and researching customer business and industry to identify new sales opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Four (4) year degree in technical or business
  • Minimum of twelve plus years of direct work experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with Federal Civilian and Public Safety leadership with one or more of the following agencies:   Department of State, HHS, VA, DOT, HUD, Treasury, Commerce, SEC, NASA, USAID, DHS, DOJ, CISA
  • Understanding of Federal Government IT and cybersecurity business drivers, challenges, and environment.
  • Past experience selling complex network, IT, or security solutions to Federal Civilian Agencies and Public Safety.
  • Expert knowledge of security technologies and market trends
  • Knowledge of emerging security innovations in 5G mobility, Zero Trust, Security Operations, Identity and access management, and other network-based security solutions.
  • Effectively collaborate with internal and external cross-functional organizations and customers
  • Highly motivated and self-directed with the ability to work well both independently and as proactive team member
  • Exceptional corporate presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of budgeting, buying, and contracting processes for the Federal Government.
  • Security industry certifications
  • Proven ability to work with wide range of organizations and extended teams
