Description

AppNexus, aXandrCompanyis looking for aMarketplace PolicyManagerto support policy initiatives that protect the long-term health and reputation of our advertising marketplaces and product platforms.Youwill work closely with senior leaders across functions to administer, implement, and evolve our policy standardsand processes. You will work closely with product, data science, and engineering teams to improve policy outcomes through data analysis and prioritization of system improvements. The Policy Manager will help our customers and customer-facing teams understand how our policies are applied and how they support a trusted advertising marketplace. This is a fantastic opportunity to have a long-term impact on how customers, consumers, and our business experience advertising.
About thejob:
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Legal, Communications, and Commercial teams to build and implement policies that support the company’sstrategicobjectivesbased on legal requirements and industry best practices
  • Develop the framework and policygoalsfor issues including content, selling and buying practices, trust, and transparency for our platforms
  • Partner with our public policy team on monitoringthe policy landscape for emerging issuesthat impact our technology and business strategyand understand who are thought leaders on specific issues
  • Partner with our public policy team to build relationships withindustryorganizationsand key customers and industry partnersoutside ofXandrto advance ourknowledge of policy issues, their impacts onXandrand the advertising ecosystem and ourpolicy goals
  • Partner with our public policy team to writeournarrativeand position onforpolicy issuesexternallyandwrite andrepresent our position in internal and client communications
  • Partner to present ourinternalpolicies and standards to customers, partners, internal teams, and senior leaders
  • Design andmanage the processes to enforce our policies and ensure they remainundercontrol
  • Analyze enforcement and escalation data to recommend improvements to product regarding the systems and processes that support our policies at scale
  • Serve as the point of escalation for making decisions when existing processes don’t produce a clear decision


Qualifications

  • You’re passionate about public policy issues and how they impact business objectives
  • You’re comfortable making difficult decisions
  • You’re an excellent written and verbal communicator
  • You’re able to communicate points of view to audiences that may be biased against your position
  • You’re able to understand alternative positions on issues
  • You’re able to advise senior leaders on policy issues
  • You’re able to facilitate group discussions with cross-functional stakeholders
  • You’re able to closely partner with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ideal qualifications
    • You have experiencedriving consensus onissues that may not have a clear answer andcommunicating requirementson those issuesto product teams
    • You have built relationships with public advocacy, policy, or other external stakeholder groups
    • You have managed policy development and advocacy in the past
