Overall Purpose: Responsible for instructional design and development of courseware for employees whose complex job tasks or environments include employee development, product deployment and all technical functions at the company. Responsible for delivering training to audiences of entry through mid-level employees.

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Design, develop, customize, and/or maintain course materials using a variety of authoring tools. Collaborates with functional organizations to develop objectives for content of courses. Acts as a Subject Matter Expert in programming languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.). Instructs participants in classroom lectures and/or group sessions. Trains high-end data, organizational design, is considered the team lead. Evaluate effectiveness of potential additions to the curriculum, including conducting pilot sessions and facilitating alternative delivery methods. Leads the design and implementation of performance improvement projects/interventions. In some cases may provide training or mentoring to less experienced staff, and may provide feedback for the evaluation of new staff. May conduct train-the- trainer sessions, certify instructors on vendor interventions, and maintain subject matter expertise in designated areas required for effective course management.

Education: Typically Bachelors of Arts degree or Bachelors of Science degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

Experience: Typically 5 - 8 years of experience in a related field is preferred. Instructional Design is required.

Supervisory: No.

Required/Desired Skills:

  • Experience in programing languages/applications (e.g. Java, JavaScript, AngularJS 2.0, Python, Hadoop, etc.).
  • Experience designing for a variety of instructional delivery methods and media including face-to-face, ILT, and web-based learning interventions.
  • Experience delivering training in a variety of settings to include face-to-face and virtual leader led.
  • Demonstrable experience in writing, preferably technical writing.
  • Strong experience in effectively managing end-to-end projects with multiple project team members.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to follow the problem through to resolution.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-directed, self-starter who works well with a team and is innovative and strategic.
