Overall Purpose: This career step requires career level experience. Proactively monitors, analyzes, and resolves issues in production. Works with architecture, labs, other operations support teams and cloud tenants to maintain maximum stability, performance, and security for current environments and future cloud environments via AT&T DevOps philosophies. May include responsibility for overall operations and integration of OpenStack and Kubernetes based clouds. Subject matter expertise in the following but not limited to server hardware, Linux, monitoring, virtualization. Subject matter expertise may also include the following: database administration, software-defined storage, software-defined networking, cloud computing and container orchestration systems. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Ensure continual service availability. Troubleshooting and resolution of production problems. Provide incident response/management and root cause analysis. Proactive development and implementation of monitoring systems. Maintains and continuously improves tools, ad-hoc scripting and automation infrastructure for configuration management, maintenance, testing, auditing, problem remediation and capacity planning. Collaborates with and manages vendors to drive defect resolution and enhancements for internal customers to meet departmental or enterprise business needs, in addition to providing extended support as needed. Conducts routine hardware and software audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. Performs the setup, maintenance, and monitoring of backups of supported infrastructure. Develops, promotes, and curates standard operating/method of procedures in conjunction with risk assessments to reduce hazards to the network. Performs security compliance, auditing and remediation based on ATT security policies in collaboration with CSO. May include performing Operational Readiness Testing and Operational Acceptance Testing. May include providing integration and advisement to tenants. May include support of systems before launch through collaboration with TechArch, Labs, Application teams, and vendors by providing system design/architecture guidance, system review and testing to ensure the adherence to AT&T requirements and fulfillment of AT&T needs. Job Contribution: Technical professional with some experience. Sound technical knowledge growing through application, expanding knowledge of ATT technologies. Familiarity with server hardware. Some skills with server OS, such as Linux. Education: Preferred Bachelors of Science in Information Systems Technology, Computer Science or Engineering.
