Windows Systems Admin (Government)



Candidate for this position would be a key member of an operations team responsible for Windows and enterprise management system administration support for multiple service applications.

Specifically the candidate would be responsible for leading Windows-related operational support activities (e.g., installation, configuration, accreditation activities, maintenance) as well as user account management, auditing, and password reset.
  • Tasking will also require trouble ticket generation and management, configuration control, and report generation.
  • Candidate will be required to learn and maintain other third party applications hardware and software as well as assist in operations support systems platform administration (e.g. Solarwinds, Net Scout, and ticketing systems, e.g.Trac and/or ManageEngine).
  • Candidate must be able to coordinate and partner with various work centers, network engineers/administrators, and customer organizations in the execution of daily tasks.
  • This is a Tier 2 support position, so candidate must be prepared to be on-call 24X7.
  • No Relocation offered.

 A minimum of 5 years credible Windows system administration experience in an operational environment, specifically:

  • proven systems administration experience with Windows Server 10 and/or 2008 systems used as applications servers, web servers, database servers, and workstations;
  • monitoring, configuring and patching virtual server deployments and infrastructure using VMWare or similar technology; scripting skills (e.g. Perl or shell) for automating tasks;
  • Solarwinds applications monitoring and diagnostics configuration;
  • utilizing ticketing systems such as Trac or ManageEngine;
  • knowledge of data communications and TCP/IP.
  • must be capable to recommend and perform maintenance independently, as required, which may require travel in DC metro area on occasion.
  • Sec+ certification, and documentation skills for accreditation documentation, as needed.
  • excellent teaming skills and a positive attitude are a must.

Required Clearance: Active TS/SCI; US citizenship. (Please note that hiring will be contingent on timely transfer of clearances)

Desired: Experience with Dell technology, Active Directory, and LINUX (Red Hat) are strongly desired; knowledge of Splunk and network device technology would also be helpful.
