AT&T is seeking a highly experienced test engineer to support the Space and Missile Systems Center Space Superiority Directorate (SMC/SY) STS-2 Engineering and Technical Services contract advisory services to SMC/SY. We work closely with the US Air Force to acquire next generation space and ground systems. We are currently seeking a professional test engineer to join this expanding team. The individual shall support the SMC/SY Engineering Branch (SYE) with engineering, integration and testing support for space control and related programs. The individual will support the development and coordination of test strategies, plans, procedures, and reports required by statutory and regulatory documentation (as detailed in DODI 5000.02 and AFI 63-101/20-101) as well as any other documents specifically mandated by the SMC/SY Space Control Program Managers, SMC/SY, AFPEO/Space, SAF/AQ, and/or OSD leadership. The individual shall coordinate test plans, reports and related documents associated with acquisition and development and coordinate approval with SYE personnel, SY staff, SMC staff, HQ AFSPC, SAF/AQ, and OSD personnel.


Responsibilities:

• Develop, execute and perform analysis on space control systems
• Assist with establishment Baseline performance characteristics
• Work with space control program managers to develop test strategies, plans, procedures and reports related to all aspects of system testing
• Identify testing facilities, resources, personnel, and supporting agency interactions and coordinate utilization and scheduling
• Provide system test support, assist in creating, modifying, reviewing, and executing test plans and procedures for accuracy and adequacy, witnessing tests, and analyzing and recording test results
• Conducts independent test and evaluation on space control space, ground and communication systems
• Prepare reports to document results of system, integration, and related testing at all levels of testing
• Conducts testing to validate operational and functional requirements, as well ensure that components work together properly

Required Skills

• A TS/SCI clearance with a current SSBI, and the ability to be accessed to the customer's programs is required to be considered for this position
• Hands on experience testing space control systems to include space, ground and communications
• Ability to trouble shoot networks and interfaces
• Familiar with Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center (AFOTEC) policies, procedures and guidelines
• Know of risk management framework (RMF) and Cyber policies and guidelines
• Understanding and knowledge resilient architectures, such as path diversity and operating in contested and congested environment
• Ability to function in a multi-contractor/customer environment
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to understand new concepts
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Strong attention to detail
• Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking
• Ability to travel is required

Preferred Skills
Understanding of Agile/Lean software development methodologies

Required Experience
  • BA or BS degree in Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • At least five years of relevant experience in government systems integration and testing
  • Must be familiar with the Department of Defense (DoD) space acquisition life-cycle management processes
  • Knowledge on the systems, organization, personnel, activities and capabilities of U.S. space systems
  • Current DoD TS/SCI (or recent SSBI) required

Preferred Experience
  • Experience with Agile Software development and testing
  • Acquisition experience at the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) or equivalent
