Overview:

AT&T’s Marketing & Growth Organization delivers cutting-edge advertising that elevate AT&T’s historic brand and put the customer at the forefront of everything we do. The Research, Analytics and Impact team is looking for an innovative and experienced marketing professional to lead our Advertising, Messaging and Retail Research group and drive senior-level decision making through strong research programs. The Associate Director will lead a team of five direct reports along with several external partners and their activities. The selected candidate will need strong brand advertising, messaging and retail research expertise, as well as a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams, communicating effectively with leadership and thinking strategically across measurement platforms to deliver unified, clear analyses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and elevate in-market advertising and creative research platforms:
  • Ensure measurement frameworks and platforms reflect best-in-class methodology. Identify opportunities to elevate tools to put the customer at the forefront of decision making and execute on platform enhancements
  • Develop our talent and position team members to expertly support partner organizations. Build strong, productive working relationships across the Research, Analytics & Impact team.
  • Provide ongoing direction and management to a team of research vendors
  • Develop advertising insights for AT&T’s Consumer and Business organizations:
  • Influence business decisions through persuasive presentation of key insights and solutions to marketing executives
  • Provide thought leadership for measure of advertising’s influence on key performance metrics such as awareness, perceptions, and consideration.
  • Generate crisp insights on AT&T advertising Brand and Message Recall performance and develop actionable recommendations for senior executives
  • Manage the design, operation and enhancement of Competitive Media Spend Modeling Platform and all associated Reporting and Forecasting
  • Manage Brand Advertising & Messaging Insights for key marketing executives
  • Develop reports and key insights for brand health tracking, major advertising and sponsorship campaigns
  • Manage messaging and positioning research, in-flight advertising performance and awareness tracking and reporting
  • Supervise data reporting, collection, quality control and client delivery / presentation for advertising insights projects
  • Manage Retail Insights for key marketing executives
  • Develop actionable insights for AT&T’s retail merchandizing
  • Track and measure customer experience and shopping behavior in-store
  • Develop reports and key insights for major retail programs and market tests

Desired Qualifications:

10+ years’ relevant work experience designing and delivering market research; tracking brand health and measuring advertising’s influence of key performance metrics such as awareness, perceptions, and sales; developing actionable insights for senior marketing executives; supervision of data reporting, collection, and quality control for advertising insights projects

  • 5+ years’ relevant experience leading teams, developing talent and managing vendor partners
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving acumen
  • Deep experience with brand, advertising, copy testing and messaging research
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Bachelors’ degree in a relevant field; Masters’ degree is preferred

Experience: Typically requires 6+ years of experience in similar area of responsibility or as a supervisor.

Work Location:  Must be able to work on-site fulltime (Atlanta, GA- or -El Segundo, CA)

Our Assoc Dir-Market Research & Analysis earn between 128,400.00 – 215,800.00 USD Annual. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
