Principal-Applications Developer DIRECTV

The New DIRECTV is looking for a skilled applications developer to support the call center operations and will have responsibility for the performance of any/all functions involved in the development and/or maintenance of new or existing applications like small reporting tools, website design, database administration, and global login.  Including, but not limited to use of programming language and technology, writing code, completing programming and documentation, and performing testing and debugging of applications.

This is a supervisory role managing two employees: a senior application developer and a principal project manager.

AT&T and TPG signed an agreement to form a new entity, DIRECTV, which will own and operate AT&T’s U.S. video unit consisting of DIRECTV (consumer and business satellite services), AT&T TV and U-verse TV (excluding U-verse network assets). When the transaction closes, the job you are applying for will become part of the New DIRECTV.  Transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2021.  Until closing, this role will be a part of AT&T’s U.S. video unit. Desired Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in developing software applications including analysis, design, coding, testing, deploying, and supporting of applications
  • Proficiency in application/software architecture (Definition, Business Process Modeling, etc.)
  • Understanding of application/software development and design
  • Python, Angular, MySQL, Linux
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • Six-Sigma certification
