Responsibilities: This PMTS-level position is responsible for applying significant technical and professional expertise in analyzing and solving problems associated with the AT&T’s IP/MPLS Core Backbone network and control-plane design. Given the growth and complexity of control-plane scale and it's interaction with the end customer experience during layer1/transport failures and convergence events in the network. We are looking for a subject matter expert to directionally lead & guide us to and next-gen core, scalable/resilient network, design solutions.
Technical Leadership: In-depth technical discussions/consultations must be conducted with AT&T System Engineers and with engineering staff of our IP/MPLS Common backbone HW and SW vendors. Ability to analyze in-service problems, customer needs and translate them into requirements, be able to build test lab to mimic design, document NDR/CCR(Design documents) and conduct hands-on feature, design validation. Participate in design reviews and capable of troubleshooting complex technical problems that involve multiple vendor technologies.
Candidate shall have a PhD in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
• IP Layer2 and 3 data networking technologies
• Hands-on experience with L3 Test Sets
• In-depth understanding of Control Plane protocols like OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MPLS-TE/FRR & BGP.
• Hands-on experience with Juniper and Cisco HW and SW.
