Principal Member of Technical Staff  – Data Scientist with strong Wireless/Broadband Network background and ML/AI Experience
The Principal Member Technical Staff will be part of the end-end performance and analytics team, focused on 5G developing ML/AI based solutions. The individual will be responsible for AT&T's end-end cellular network performance claims, projecting and forecasting network performance using AI Models, training the models using the data that we capture from network elements,  and helping with trouble shooting & optimization. The role requires collecting and processing network data, and using analytics to identify potential problems as well as to help predict trends and future performance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop data models and mathematical models to quantify, predict, and report performance in 5G end-2-end network
  • Design and implement effective AI solution architecture utilizing approaches of various AI technologies and methods to support end-2-end network performance analysis
  • Development of complex data requirements, identifying/validating network data measurement sources
  • Collect and process data from network instrumentation and network element interfaces to support network modeling, performance engineering, and analysis/modeling
  • Explore data with visualization tools (Tableau/Notebook etc) and deliver analytic results via Microservices and/or standalone web applications



Education and Experience:
Candidate shall have a PhD in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a  Bachelor's degree in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of  8 years of relevant experience

Required Skills:

  • Solid domain knowledge in LTE/5G technologies, 3GPP network standards etc.
  • Experience in working on RAN networks, deep familiarity with network architecture and background with troubleshooting
  • Knowledge and experience of applying data analytics and ML models for network analytics
  • Strong Hands-on experience on large volume of data collecting, processing with Python, SQL, Oracle, etc.
  • Familiarity with LTE & NR RAN Performance Measurements (Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung)
  • Python web application experience with Flask/Django or web analytic applications with Dash is a plus
