POSITION: Lead System Engineering
JOB LOCATION: 208 S. Akard St., Dallas, Texas 75202 [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home]
Lead System Engineering needed by AT&T Services, Inc. in Dallas, Texas [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home] to be responsible for partnering with Consumer Technology Experience (CTx), Development, Operations/Infrastructure, and Solution Architect teams in designing a comprehensive Performance Engineering framework based on the needs of the business. Drive a project and assume ownership of Performance team deliverables. Design robust Performance Test Strategies that will validate impact of changes to performance of individual applications as well as the consumer technology ecosystem. Collaborate with Development, Project Managers, and Solution Architects to design application tests to validate performance and resiliency of the consumer technology ecosystem. Participate and provide recommendations to ensure performance is built into the design of a solution. Drive detailed performance and final summary report. Work closely with vendor/partner teams for execution of load tests based on software delivery/release schedule. Build partnerships with the business, operations, technology, and other key stakeholders, including external vendor partners and work effectively in a matrix organization. Report and escalate issues related to application or commitment risks to stakeholders. Identify propose frameworks and tools for performance. Articulate, flag, and communicate risks to the business. Utilize Jenkins and Pipeline setup for performance testing along with DevOps team. Perform Workload Characterization and define workload mix and targets from analytics. Work on estimation to drive the definition of the test cases supporting the testing of NFRs. Lead meetings with NFR Lead and drive any kind of discussion on technical topics. Train and coach other performance testers. Apply experience with microservice architecture and containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes. Apply knowledge of application architecture concepts, including topology, protocols, components, and principles. Apply knowledge of Agile Lifecycle and Delivery management tools including Jira, Planview, and ADO. Work with one or more programming languages including scripting/functional/imperative -- C/C++, Java, Python, Scala, R, and SQL. Architect and roll out technology transformation initiatives strength in business and technical requirements analysis. Apply experience and technical depth in one, or more technology areas including software engineering, solution architecture, production operations, distributed technologies, performance engineering, resiliency/chaos engineering, or SaaS/cloud-based ecosystems. Utilize Performance testing tools including JMeter and LoadRunner. Utilize analysis tools including App Dynamics, Dynatrace, Grafana, and Splunk. Utilize tools including Fiddler, Quantum Metrics, Exe Tool, Heap Analyzer, Google Dev Tools, Core Web Vitals, and ELK. Apply experience in technologies including Kubernetes Container, CI/CD, Jenkins, Chaos Testing, Performance Testing, Salesforce, Azure, and AWS. Apply knowledge of APIs database architecture. Apply working knowledge of infrastructure components (e.g., routers, load balancers, cloud products, container systems, compute, storage, and networks). Apply knowledge of application architecture concepts including topology, protocols, components, and principles. Create firm wide solutions to business requirements and communicating effectively to both business and technical audiences. Orchestrate and drive complex strategies and solutions. Utilize tools and technologies including ADO, JIRA, Confluence, and GitHub. Apply knowledge of software and hardware optimization. Apply knowledge of UNIX/Linux Operating System. Apply knowledge of Telecom and CRM UI, Middleware, and Message Bus Domain.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, or 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation with experience and technical depth in one, or more technology areas including software engineering, solution architecture, production operations, distributed technologies, performance engineering, resiliency/chaos engineering, or SaaS/cloud-based ecosystems; utilizing Performance testing tools including JMeter and LoadRunner; utilizing analysis tools including App Dynamics, Dynatrace, Grafana, and Splunk; utilizing tools including Fiddler, Quantum Metrics, Exe Tool, Heap Analyzer, Google Dev Tools, Core Web Vitals, and ELK; working with one or more programming languages (scripting/functional/imperative – C# .NET/C/C++, Java, Python, Scala, R, and SQL); experience in technologies including Kubernetes Container, CI/CD, Jenkins, Chaos Testing, Performance Testing, Salesforce, Azure, and AWS; utilizing APIs database architecture; utilizing infrastructure components (e.g., routers, load balancers, cloud products, container systems, compute, storage, and networks); utilizing application architecture concepts including topology, protocols, components, and principles; creating firm wide solutions to business requirements and communicating effectively to both business and technical audiences; orchestrating and driving complex strategies and solutions; utilizing tools and technologies including ADO, JIRA, Confluence, GitHub; applying knowledge of software and hardware optimization; utilizing UNIX/Linux Operating System; utilizing of Telecom and CRM UI, Middleware, and Message Bus Domain.
