Job Overview

Job Description:

In the role as a Lead Accountant, your responsibilities include developing, implementing and/or maintaining one or a combination of general accounting systems.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepares journal entries, maintains and reconciles ledger accounts.
  • Manages record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions supporting a complex legal entity structure.
  • Balances books periodically and prepares profit and loss, income and balance sheet statements.
  • Oversee company receipts and disbursement reports. Analyze and interpret reports and records for managers.
  • Supports special accounting treatments such as the accounting for various divestures or various complex industry specific accounting transactions.

Financial & Data Analysis

  • Acts as subject matter expert and analyzes large amounts of detailed data using professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in effective ways.
  • Performs in-depth analysis of industry specific revenue, inventory, asset, liability and expense transactions across a multiple Company structured environment (including detailed Partnership level Financials).
  • Consults on cross-functional projects and collaborates with project managers, business partners and leadership of different levels to implement accounting solutions.
  • Utilize data analytical tools like PowerBI, SQL, Access, and other tools while automating processes:  manual journal entries, reconciliations, and reports.

Management and Compliance

  • Responsible for interpreting and applying company policy, controls, and accounting principles to financial transactions.
  • Initiates process improvements to enhance the effectiveness, accuracy and performance of accounting processes.
  • May review work of others in accordance with the JE and ABR and other accounting policies. 
  • Actively participates in development and mentoring of others in terms of both operations and technical expertise.

Job Contribution: Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results, and resolves problems.

Education: Typically a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: Typically requires 5-7 years’ experience.

Supervisory: No.

Our Lead Accountants earn between $118,800 & $178,200 of TSR. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
