About the Role
In order to win in the connected world, AT&T needs best-in-class marketing. This means we need to have great marketers with leading edge capabilities, tools, and methodologies. These need to be developed and embedded throughout the business, to keep pace with consumers and to get ahead of the competition.
In this highly visible role, you will be on the team responsible for chartering the next generation of marketing capability at AT&T. The role will work directly with marketers and stakeholders across the company to bring ideas and innovation to life, building new marketing capabilities that drive a step-change in AT&T’s marketing effectiveness and efficiency.
As the Director of Next Generation Marketing Strategy, you will lead the development of next generation marketing capabilities for AT&T, including shaping the capability strategy (principles, framework, and governance model), the capability ‘operating system’ (processes, platforms, and tools), and the 12–18-month roadmap of priority initiatives.
This position will play a key role in thought leadership across the strategic priorities for marketing, designed to accelerate performance across our entire population of Marketers. The role requires the individual to provide support at a strategic as well as operational level.
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and visionary leader with a wide breadth and depth of marketing understanding across data, creativity, media, and technology as well as an insatiable curiosity and penchant for “what’s next”. The candidate should display a strong and genuine interest for transforming AT&T’s Marketing Capabilities in the context of the connected world and the rapid changes in the external landscape. Key to our success is the collaboration with the various marketing teams in markets and categories, and external partners. The role requires the individual to work intrinsically with the Marketing & Growth Organization and with their peers in the Business Units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of AT&T's marketing capability strategy, including the identification of key capabilities, processes, and operating models needed to support marketing goals.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, HR, IT, and Operations, to develop a roadmap for marketing capability development and ensure that initiatives are aligned with overall business objectives.
- Act as the subject matter expert on marketing capability best practices, trends, and emerging technologies, and bring these insights to AT&T to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize marketing capability projects, and manage the end-to-end delivery of these initiatives, including the development of project plans, resources, timelines, and budgets.
- Monitor and measure the impact of marketing capability initiatives and provide regular reporting and insights to senior leadership to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, to ensure that marketing capability initiatives are aligned with business goals and priorities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of marketing experience, with a proven track record of driving marketing transformation in large, cross-functional organizations
- Strong understanding of marketing best practices, trends, and emerging technologies, and experience applying these insights to drive innovation and impact.
- Proven project management skills, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage end-to-end delivery of complex initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture and make informed decisions that drive business results.

Our Director, Next Generation Marketing Strategy earn between $128,400 - $192,600 yearly. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
