The AT&T Brand Design team within the Marketing & Growth Organization (MGO) is committed to delivering cohesive, memorable, and premium design experiences. What’s the job?

We’re looking for a Brand Designer to help define the future of the AT&T brand. This role will directly shape the AT&T brand identity, informing the work of creative partners inside and outside of AT&T, and impact millions of customers. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the Brand Identity team to own and evolve the brand identity system to successfully express our updated brand purpose and positioning
  • Building thoughtful presentations to sell in creative vision to marketing stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Partnering with other marketing, creative, and product teams to bring the branding to life across all customer-facing and internal touchpoints
  • Developing brand guidelines and best-in-class creative examples of the branding in action to inspire other creatives
  • Proactively recommending improvements in existing processes and workflows

The ideal candidate is passionate about design and branding and driven to continually improve with each output. They understand how, where, and why to best focus their creative exploration to align with project briefs, stakeholder inputs, functional requirements, and timelines. A solid understanding of design fundamentals related to typography, grid, layout, and accessibility should be demonstrated though a professional level design portfolio of relevant and bar-raising creative work. Our team’s work is often self-directed, so comfort working with ambiguity, an ownership mentality, indefatigable work-ethic, strong communication, and organizational skills are must haves. 

Basic qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant design industry experience with an agency or in-house
  • Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Keynote/PowerPoint
  • An online portfolio demonstrating systematic brand and identity design scaling across multiple touch points
  • Strong grasp of the creative process; from ideation through implementation
  • Familiarity working within established brand guidelines
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to present ideas and feedback clearly and thoughtfully to teammates and business partners verbally, in writing, and through sketches

Preferred qualifications

  • A BA/BFA from an arts-focused college/university or a design concentration at an accredited 4-year institution
  • Professional experience with a brand-focused design agency or consultancy
  • Experience contributing to and/or developing brand guidelines

Bonus points

  • Creative industry awarded work examples
  • Familiarity with brand strategy
  • Experience with advanced team workflows (e.g. Creative Cloud (CC) Library, Figma, or other collaborative design software)
  • Experience with motion graphics (After Effects, Final Cut Pro)
  • Experience working in MS Teams

Where’s the role?

This role is located in our global headquarters overlooking the AT&T Discovery District in downtown Dallas, TX. We are seeking a candidate currently located in the Dallas area or willing to relocate (relocation package provided) who would be able to be in the office on an as-needed basis. We’ve adopted a flexible working situation consisting of scheduled in-office days to collaborate and meet with others in person and flex days to work from home.

Who you’ll work with

This role is in the Brand Identity team reporting directly to the Associate Vice President of Brand Design. You will work alongside a Senior Brand Identity Designer, and your day-to-day work will see you partner with brand strategists, governance experts, product leads, marketing managers, writers, project managers, and of course other designers within the larger Brand Design team, and across AT&T. Our teams are located in Dallas, NYC, and virtual.
