Job Description:

The AVP of Wireless Device Technology will report to our VP of Device Technology and lead AT&T’s wireless device technology strategy and delivery serving both consumer and enterprise markets.  Responsibilities span roadmap alignment, requirement and test case definition, design, development, certification, and launch execution across devices, device platforms, modules, chipsets, and SIM/eSIM platforms.  You will combine strategic vision with deep hands-on technical expertise, including chipset-level understanding, network knowledge, experience with device manufactures, and drive innovation in wireless and converged wireless/broadband solutions.   A strong grasp of the overall device ecosystem is essential. This is a leadership role focused on bringing fresh ideas, accelerating innovation, and delivering transformative solutions aligned with AT&T’s converged device vision. 

This role is based in Dallas TX requiring in-office presence 5 days/week. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates. 

Required Qualifications 

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in broadband, wireless, or converged device technology. 
  • Deep technical understanding of network architectures and device platforms. 
  • Experience managing relationships with chipset and device manufacturers. 
  • Strong knowledge of device certification, with a proven history of innovation to drive efficiency, quality, and time to market.  
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive complex device programs. 
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills in large-scale, matrixed organizations. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related technical field. 
  • MBA or advanced degree. 
  • Experience working with wireless and broadband technologies. 
  • Hands-on experience with emerging broadband software platforms (Prpl), open source software, and device analytics. 
  • Proven track record of driving innovation and transformation within telecom device portfolios. 
  • Familiarity with smart home integration and converged wireless-broadband ecosystems.

Our AVP Wireless Device Technology will earn between $230,000 - $345,000. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
