Responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of storage subsystems including Storage Area Networks (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), and/or Object- based storage solutions. Responsible for the availability, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and resolution of storage performance issues in a 24/7 production support model. Can also provide support to infrastructure that provides backup capability for OS, application and database files for the purpose of operational and/or disaster recovery.
Roles and Responsibilities:
∙ Troubleshoot Storage (NetApp SolidFire, HDS HUS and PURE) issues
∙ Interface with System Administration, Application Teams, and other IT Operations personnel on conference bridges to troubleshoot issues.
∙ Coordinate hardware maintenance with various vendors, technical teams and Tier 3 engineers
∙ Coordinate implementation of storage infrastructure changes
∙ Work with data center operations team to troubleshoot storage connectivity issues.
∙ Provide outage analysis write-ups to management
Key Competencies and Skills:
∙ computer science background (University graduate) or self-student with very good IT skills
∙ Strong verbal communication skills
GOOD TO HAVE
∙ Use level experience in Unix like Systems
∙ Background in Unix using the command line interface
∙ Understanding / familiarity with KVM and Vmware hypervisor configurations.
∙ Understanding / familiarity with Cloud infrastructure.
∙ Experience with storage array provisioning and troubleshooting with NetApp SolidFire, HDS HUS and PURE M20/M70/X70 technologies
∙ Strong written skills to communicate troubleshooting and resolution status in a storage operations environment
Education and Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors of Science in Information Systems Technology, Computer Science or Engineering preferred. Experience: Typically requires 1+ years experience.
Mastery of English in a fast paced highly technical environment
Ability to work off-shift to support a 24 x 7 environment
Great job if you like the shifts and don't mind taking calls
