Description


As a member of the AT&T Global Connections and Supply Chain (GCSC) Organization, you will utilize your technical, development and strategic abilities to provide development solutions to support the applications development in GCSC Organization. You’ll have the opportunity to help internal clients implement innovative solutions and best practices throughout AT&T’s sourcing processes, synthesizing data and operations from wide-ranging sources into tools and models used on the front lines of billions of dollars’ worth of negotiations.



Day-to-day responsibilities – typical tasks you could perform in this role include:


  1. Assess automation needs and requirements gathering:

    1. Global Connection Management (Access) process automation documentation, evaluation, and improvements

    2. Application design and requirements preparation

  2. Code development and integration:

    1. Code development to deliver new applications as well as supporting existing applications

    2. Feature testing and integration to ensure high quality application performance

    3. Gain understanding of internal AT&T software documentation practices

    4. Understand emerging technologies


  1. Software & solutions evaluations, focused on the following:

    1. Implementation best practices
    2. Supply Chain and Global Connections Management software trends and future landscape



Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Pursuit or completion of bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
  • Strategic mindset and strong development/analytical skills:
    • Problem Solving: Aptitude to quickly understand and apply automation requirements, recognize subtleties of complex problems, and develop innovative solutions to meet project needs
    • Solution Definitions: Ability to work with multiple sources of data (often process and technical documentation), integrating fact-bases and assumptions to define business focused software solution recommendations, including processes and technical specifications, utilizing agile development and most recent development techniques
    • Technical: Advanced experience utilizing JAVA and related technologies, UNIX/LINUX, Oracle/MySQL data bases, and front end application design/development
  • Project management experience:
    • Effective communication skills
    • Comfortable and effective in working in teams and across functional groups that vary from fundamentally technical to non-technical
  • Demonstrated capability in managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering against tight deadlines

  • Superior negotiation and persuasion skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong academic record at a well-respected educational institution
  • Internships or full-time experience in the telecommunications or high-technology industries

  • Advanced experience with JAVA, J2EE, Struts, Angular, JSP, Servlet, JSON, Git, Jenkins
  • Practical experience building workflow management and operations tools utilizing Camunda, API and related technologies
  • Software development experience
  • Experience managing relationships and interacting with system analysts, developers and various application users in the telecommunications space
