Introduction

This job leads Analytics for the Prepaid Wireless Portfolio including Cricket Wireless and AT&T Prepaid.  This is a critical role within the AT&T Prepaid Portfolio, as this leader will be responsible for analyzing significant business issues/opportunities, creating insights, and recommending solutions to Executive leadership.  The Prepaid Portfolio organization is lean, so this leader and his team of approximately six-eight analysts will be responsible for analytics across a very broad range of topics: customer acquisition, churn/retention, distribution performance & site selection planning, base marketing analytics, voice of customer & CX analytics, operational analytics related to IVR performance, customer care, online transactions, and more. 

Overall Purpose:

Given this breadth of responsibility and relatively small team size, the ideal candidate will lead this team as a “player-coach”, be willing and able to quickly understand, code to enable analytical findings, and effectively communicate critical KPIs and trends within each subject area.  This is a hands-on role.  If the idea of being the go-to person for answers on a wide range of topics, for a multi-billion-dollar business with over 17 million subscribers excites you, then this is role is for you.

To succeed in this position, you will bring data together from multiple sources (including data-lakes, internal data warehouses, external sources, API calls, etc.).  You will analyze that data using statistics, trend analysis, predictive modeling/machine learning, and other techniques.  You will distill even the most complicated analysis down to actionable insights understandable to VP+ level executives. You understand that often less is more when it comes to executive communication and presentations.  And most critically, you will coach and inspire your team to also do all of these things well.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Business case development, big data analytics modeling using tools relationships, trigger points and ultimately make predictions.
  • Builds (Tableau, Palantir, Power BI, Databricks, AWS Azure, Synapse, H2O Driverless AI, etc.), and business process integration.
  • Gathers, analyzes, and interprets a wide variety of data to identify causal predictive models using data, tests the model on results outside of the sample size, and verifies the model in the real world. Quantifies significance of data variances, applies an array of statistical methods ranging from traditional to newly-developing within the Big Data space. Uses traditional modeling techniques to build models that support decision making.
  • Develops reports, charts, tables, and other visual aids in support of findings.
  • Advises business partners with regard to patterns and relationships in data to recommend business direction or outcomes.

Education: Preferred Masters degree from an accredited University in a Quantitative field of study such as Data Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering or Physics.
